Please don't ruin this thread. We had 1000 great pages before this shite.

No one has ruined anything, your comments only make it worse.

Thanks for the help, Ilike. After minimal questioning, I'm sending the board back to asrock. Hopefully not down for too long.

MSI has released one truly killer gaming laptop, this thing is a BEAST unlike any other.
Pretty impressive.

Hate cramped chiclet keyboards? The GT80 is the first laptop to use an actual mechanical keyboard. It has Cherry MX Brown switches. Want to be able to upgrade your components? A panel on top of the laptop gives you access to M.2 SSD slots, RAM, and a 2.5-inch drive bay. Even the graphics cards, a pair of Nvidia GTX 980Ms in SLI, can be swapped out for newer MXM mobile graphics down the road. Aren't happy without a triple-monitor setup? The GT80 supports Nvidia Surround thanks to two DisplayPort and one HDMI output on the back.
Think laptop performance just isn't good enough? Well, a pair of 980Ms running in SLI is comparable to (and even slightly outperforms) the desktop 980, according to MSI. A 350 watt power brick ensures they have enough juice to run at full capacity.
Pretty impressive.

It's an attitude thing they have going in this thread that is informative without the standard internet garbage.

You are like a gorilla in a tea shop that thinks it's the queen that must be waited on. Stopped breaking shite, sit down and have some tea. No need to wreck house here.

I like the trackpad on the side, always have to turn off the ones underneath the keyboards.

Just the truth, it's what keeps shite going downhill, me and ILike were talking and other people have to jump in and comment which makes it worse, it was dead yesterday and now it's dragged into today from a couple other random people bringing it back up. Move on.

It looks pretty sweet too, they did a great job with it overall, but for starting at $3,200 it better be perfect. Specs are certainly amazing.

I just can't justify that much on a laptop when I could build that much more on my desktop with that same money.

Oh for sure, unless you like being portable not just on the road but in your home.
I enjoyed that part of it when I had my gaming laptop, I would sit/lay in bed all the time and game on it (had a chill pad). And other times I'd bring it downstairs into the living room and play with it on the coffee table.

At least it has SLI 980Ms. GPU is always the first thing to bring gaming laptops into quick obsolescence.

My router actually made remote play worse the first night I tried it. This wasn't across the house, it was near the router actually. The signal broke up a lot and dropped frames often. It was pretty unplayable really.
Someone recommended that I switch the channel to 1 or 11 to help with interference. I tried it again last night and it was more smooth for sure on channel 1 but it still isn't very good. Even using it on my phone I notice how slow the internet is to respond now. thoughts?

My thoughts are you should probably return that new router. That's the trouble with trying to find a budget router to upgrade a budget router. Quality and performance are all over the place.
Any idea if your old router supports Tomato/DD-WRT? If so, you could buy a second one and set it up at the midway point between you and the router. If the Netgear wasn't running like shite for you, I'd suggest trying something like that with the two routers you have now.
Would you like to try out a couple of routers? I have two in my house collecting dust since I got the ASUS AC68R. One is the Linksys EA4500 N900, and the other is a Belkin Play N600. Paypal me the shipping for a medium flat rate box, and I'll send you both. Whichever one works for you, you can keep. Send the other back to me so that I have a spare. I'm guessing the N900 will probably work best for you (but routers can behave differently in different environments), so if you'd like to take your chances to save the ship-back expense, I could just send you the Linksys.

Honestly, I'm thinking I should just sell this one off and stick with what I had. I was looking for a cheap option, I don't need to spend any more money right now due to incoming medical bills. Thanks for the help though.
Posted on 1/6/15 at 2:13 pm to Mr Gardoki
Yep, I've been there, which is why I was offering the router. E-mail me your address and I'll ship the N900 snail mail for free. Honestly, it's just additional clutter in the house right now.
