It works well for certain cancers. Fancier technologies sounds cooler so that's what is marketed.

What to see? They have a hopping Golden Corral. That's about it.

This is easy: Turk and JD.

Torchlight is usually on sale for cheap. Pick that up
EZ mode: Pray at the stone up in malujah.
Monitor question: I received this as a birthday present:

Running a GTX 970, so it should keep up. What is more important: the gsync and high refresh rate, or a higher res than 1080? I have some time to exchange if this was a mistake.

Don't forget seathe, first encounter is impossible to win
Question: Has anyone made a mod for 5 that is similar to 4's ryse and fall?
I did not go out and find another cmos battery. There was no troubleshooting offered by ARrock or resistance on the RMA, so I didn't bother pursuing the battery. Thanks for the help!

At least the second time around, the cooler installation should be much less nerve wracking.
I found others that have the same motherboard issues that I had.

I have no clue how to test if the incoming RMA replacement will suffer the same problems. Any methods to test a motherboard short of building and booting?
Thanks for the help, Ilike. After minimal questioning, I'm sending the board back to asrock. Hopefully not down for too long.

I read 2.74 volts across those power on pins. Is this expected? Shorting the pins as in the picture gets nothing.

This page suggests that I should get some indication from the LEDs if memory or CPU issues are found. Short of getting a second everything, what should I do?

Swapped out the memory sticks trying one at a time. Nothing.
My psu still powers on when shorting those pins. A voltmeter showed the expected voltage. I'm inclined to say this is not the problem.

It seems the motherboard is dead. There is an indicator on the board (dr debug) that I'd expect to indicate if the CPU has issues. Anything else I need to check?

I contacted asrock support but they are not working until tomorrow... And newegg return window was 30 days, which I am just over.
With guidance of the board and lots of research, I built a new system a month ago, and everything was great for the past month. I went away for Christmas for 1.5 weeks. Before leaving, I powered everything down , flipped off the psu and unplugged everything from the wall while I was gone. Came back today to a dead computer,

I cannot power on the system. The case button and power button on mobo (asrock extreme4) do nothing. Nothing has been touched since last I shut down. Tested the psu using the "paper clip trick" and the psu fan spun up. It appears to work (do not have an actual psu tester device)

What on earth do I do now??
I just built the almost the same system with a Nvidia 970 GPU.

Some might suggest a slightly less CPU, or non-unlocked model and to go with the stock cooler?

ILike recommended a slightly cheaper motherboard than I was originally planning. I stole a wireless card from another computer. Maybe you can scavenge a CD drive from another computer to save some cash?
Build completed, working on the pictures.

The scariest part was installing the CM EVO cooler and trying to decipher the instructions.

Any up-to-date guides on what to do post-OS install?

After 8.1 was finished, I ran the memory test and everything seemed fine. I downloaded and installed drivers for everything I could think of (inc Mobo, GPU)

Activated MSE and updated, and installed a program (HWiNFO) to see if the temps were okay. CPU and GPU temps seemed fine.

Now I want to make sure everything is running as good as it can (e.g. make sure my memory is running at advertised speed). What should I do next?
Motherboard and cpu arrived today. Video card has no tracking info on newegg. Why do they toy with my emotions
After almost a year delay and window shopping .... all my parts are on the way for a new build. The suspense of waiting for the mail is the worst.
Thanks for the input. I'll go with the Extreme4 unless there is some other deal at Microcenter that is too good to pass up.

I already had purchase the memory and power supply with a rebate, but I guess that isn't showing up properly. I'll put the MX100 ssd on my list to grab.

And... just when I thought I had GPUs figured out, they go and drop the XFX 290x to $299 after rebate. Tomshardware has the 970 and 290x on the same tier. Is the extra power draw/heat worth considering for the slight savings with AMD?
Long time reader and watcher of youtube building videos. Finally pulling the trigger on a gaming PC to replace a 6 year old system. I'll be making the trip to a Microcenter some pieces of:

Pcpartpicker

Any opinions on the mobo? Is it worth extra to get something like an Asus Z97-PRO. Microcenter does have this board as on open box for $174, which seems a hefty discount.

Currently I cant get a wired connection to the room. If I needed to buy a wireless card, would it make more sense to up the motherboard

Looking to OC mildly and another 970 down the road. I'm hoping to pick up a 1440 monitor soon.

Not sure if I want to try something like H100 instead of the evo for cpu cooling. Should I grab some additional fans for the r4?
