Usually what gets me driven back to the big N. I always seem to early adopt the bad ones and end up having more success with Nvidia parts.
What do you think of the XB270HU, Ilike?

Ehhh AMD is a lot better than you tend to lead on, which is why I assumed you were an Nvidia fanboy, talk just like one.
I'm glad AMD is starting to move past them personally, never been an Nvidia fan.

I'm excited and hopeful. I know I won't be able to afford one, even if they end up being priced competitive with the ROG Swift, but at the very least, I hope it doesn't have the same inconsistent QC issues that seem to be plaguing the ROG Swift. What isn't clear is whether this "IPS" panel is really IPS, or if it's using AU Optronics AHVA, which is essentially IPS without actually being called IPS. AU Optronics makes the ROG swift panel as well, but it's an 8-bit TN. So, I'm hoping it's not hit or miss like the Swift, and that it doesn't become a unicorn like the Swift has been for the last 6 months.
And I'm only hoping for those two things because it would mean the technology is maturing and ready for competitors, which means eventual affordability. Gsync or Freesync or neither, high-refresh "gaming" WQHD is long overdue. 1440P gaming was viable in 2011 when we got Tahiti cards, and nowadays anyone with a 290 or better is wasting potential at 1080P.

No, I just have a lot of knowledge and experience in the industry and understand the objective pros and cons of products and brands. I've never been one to blindly defend a company just because I own something they made.

No, call it like I see it.

Well, I understand how you see it, but lack of experience will make you see things incorrectly. I'm glad you're learning the industry and aren't just a PS4 shill anymore, but don't transfer that fanboyism to another brand based on limited experience and misinformation. There's a lot to learn about this industry beyond who's selling the fastest chip this month, and the first step in doing so is a willingness to see the merits of each and every company promoting competition and innovation.

I still love my PS4, best of both worlds.
Don't get defensive, just a message board, it's fine if you lean one way more than the other.
And to be clear, I'm not learning the industry, I've known it since college, more on the networking side as that's my degree and job...Just had a gaming laptop before when I traveled more.

I thought this was a mature discussion. I didn't realize you were trolling, as this comment seems to indicate. That's a shame.

I'm talking about the industry in more narrower terms -- PC hardware, and perhaps even more narrower to the "enthusiast" market. If you aren't interested in learning that part, that's fine. Just don't assert things that aren't true. We know better.

Lol wut? Your response was clearly defensive, even though I never called you a fanboy including a few pages back when I flat out asked you about it, but okay.
The trolling retort is so old and outplayed, shame.
I already know it at/beyond those levels, about as much as I'm going to or want to. And no one has asserted anything that isn't true.

Lol, now you're the one trolling.
Your definition of enthusiast may be different than mine for all I know.
I'd consider you an Android enthusiast at this point, despite only owning an N6 for a month+ now, but that's me.

Everything I have been reading on it says it's a AHVA.
Yeah, I really want a second monitor, I want one of these and gonna wait til March to see what happens. If it is another Swift, I may just get a Qnix as a secondary instead of a new primary monitor.

What I've been seeing too. I guess the IPS label is just the easiest way to tell the masses "this isn't a TN."
These monitors are going to arrive to market just in time for my tax refund, but I'm gonna have to exercise patience. Don't want one with QC issues. For what it's going to cost and what the swift is going for, I'd be furious if there was light bleed or a single dead pixel. Other ROG Swift owners are tolerating it, which maybe attests to how desirable the 1440P/144Hz/Gsync trifecta really is.
What's your current primary monitor?

The tech board is sad, there is no ces thread.

I was thinking the same, and considered starting one, but then I'd have to keep the OP updated with links and news and shite.

Your wish has been granted btw, fix just came out tonight for all ROMS to enable Google Now across the board, screen off, etc.
