re: Original GTA V First Impressions Thread

Played until about 630 this morning when I had to leave to work.
A few things.

The character from gta 4 that makes an appearance is hardly an icon.
The driving is a completely different animal and I love it.
Setting up a heist was everything I wanted it to be and I can't wait for more and I can tell ill be re doing them often.
I robbed several liquor stores.
Getting away from cops is much more difficult.
Vehicles take much more damage.
Explosions don't look as good as gta 4 but you'll live.
Crow hopping people is ridiculous fun.

That's what I gathered in six hours.

I did a little, I ended up taking the interstate to the industrial shipping Yard and there was a ramp to a trick jump across the canal, it was sweet as hell.

Then I drove the car the off the interstate above into the ocean.

Fun stuff.

Around 530 was when I got to Trevor's story and it opened with him in the desert. Found a dune buggy ( the bf injection from vice city) and took it over some hills. Mostly desert landscape. No wilderness or wildlife to speak of but that was towards the end of my playing time. It was very difficult to step back to reality. The map has the "fog of war" feature so I didn't get to see everything yet or even get a decent over view but let me tell you, it's quite large.

I've never purchased a GTA game. After reading this thread, it makes me want to go buy it. I'm off tomorrow, so I may have to do that.
