Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

I think I've mentioned this game a couple times before, but it's getting down to the homestretch and the release date has been set at October 6. Like the supreme dork that I am, I "became a fan" of the game on facebook. They will post updates (often); most updates are in the form of YouTube videos. Most videos are around 3-4 minutes long and show off a lot of the game.
Just last night, Codemasters released two videos on their facebook site of developer mission walk throughs. I strongly suggest becoming a fan of this game on facebook. It's a highly strategic game that promises to deliver a high level of realism to the FPS fan base, even boasting that the average gamer will probably be turned off by it.
OpFlash uses the EGO engine, the same engine used in GRID, DiRT and DiRT2. So far, things are looking very promising. I can't link to them here, but there are hands-on previews posted over on TeamXBOX.com and IGN.com, if you're interested. Become a fan on facebook, watch the videos, read the previews and fall in love. Fin.
EDIT: It also has a multiplayer suite, complete with four-player campaign co-op.

Bump.
If you are curious, OpFlash Dragon Rising has a fan page on facebook. If you are interested in finding out about the game, search Operation Flashpoint 2 Dragon Rising and become a fan. They have daily vids posted and some really nice information about the title.
I really think this will be a great sleeper for FPSs this year. It won't touch MW2, but the two games are vastly different in their approaches. Still, I'm hoping OpFlash will impress with Codies' EGO engine (used in DiRT and GRID) and some pretty good AI to fight with and against. I'm so confident in this one that I preordered last week, something I almost never do. My only other preorder ever was GTAIV. I also preordered MW2 the same day I preordered MW2. Anyway, check it out. See if any of you like it.

Nice developer vid. Check the kill on the squad AI teammate at 2:37--brutal.

IGN UK reviewed it and scored it an 8.1/10, which is about what I expected. I'll pick mine up in the next day or two. Evidently, the coop campaign is a lot of fun.

Guys, it comes out today and it's out for PS3, XBOX 360 and PC. The PC version is getting great reviews, and the console versions (as expected, and this is usually the norm) are slightly less awesome. Still, an 8.1 from IGN is solid, especially considering this game isn't titled "Call of Duty."
I'll post a little bit of what I think at some point, Klark. I'll give my honest opinion.

I'll be happy to. Unfortunately, GameStop informed me thru text that my preorder won't be ready until tomorrow.

i'll be getting it in about 40 minutes.

Hmm......Not available at blockbuster until Friday the 9th. Any idea why?

I went to EB games, not a single store had the game in Baton Rouge. Called gamestop, same, went to wal-mart on siegan, nothing, called best-buy, and another wal-mart and they didn't have it. The only place that had it was gameware, but they sold out of em early.
I think the ship date was wrong for this game.

No, ship date was October 6. Lots of times, especially for games not named Call of Duty, retailers will take their time putting them on the shelves because there's really not the same kind of demand for this game. I preordered from GameStop in Sicily's Plaza and they said it'll be there today in the PM.

gamestop is supposed to be getting them in around noon, or at least thats what the cashier said. So I'm guessing it will be in tomorrow, thats how that kind of thing normally works. Anyone know what kind of multiplayer modes this game is going to have?

Full 4 player coop campaign and a deathmatch and objective mode. I think deathmatch and objective are just 4 vs 4, with each player getting three AI players to command. Kind of weak, but the coop campaign is supposed to be all kinds of fun.

Can't wait, i'm nerdin out tonight, the question is if the game outweighs going to the gym after work. I'm thinking it might, and then i'll feel guilty next week that i missed a day to play a game that i got tired of.
Anyway, what's yalls gamer tags. I know i've posted mine for COD, but don't play as much anymore. LSU2373.

Got my copy. Also, found all the bonus mission codes. I just put them into my disc and they all unlocked. You're welcome:
AmbushU454 Unlocks "Ambush" Mission
CloseQ8M3 Unlocks "Close Quarters" Mission
StrongM577 Unlocks "Coastal Stronghold" Mission
RaidT18Z Unlocks "Night Raid" Mission
OFPWEB2 Unlocks mission "Debris Field"
OFPWEB1 Unlocks mission "Encampment"
I'll have a little review of the game some time tomorrow. So far, the music in the title is pretty legit. Off to get my face shot off...
