So, my first immediate, knee-jerk reaction to this game is holy shite I love it. Look, this isn't a game that takes you thirty minutes to finish an objective. I've been playing the tutorial since 4:00 and it's now 5:15. It's slow, methodical, and rewarding (in the single player).
Graphically, it's pretty fantastic especially considering how much open world map they had to throw onto one disc. The landscape is hilly and high ground affords you the advantage.
I'm going to try some versus multiplayer right now.

I can't get it until Friday, I'm pretty pumped about it......Interested on the multi player, is it like COD where you are put into a room with like 20 other people and are split into 2 teams of 10?

No. In fact, I doubt there will be much multiplayer versus going on at all. I've yet to get into a game. But, the coop is a lot of fun. The single player campaign is outstanding. And hard. Very hard.

multiplayer is 8 people max 4 on 4 but the computer has many more other guys, if i had to guess 20 other guys running around. The map is huge in multiplayer and it is only a small portion of the island that the game takes place on.
And yes this game is hard it'll take some time getting used to, but that's not a bad thing

I love this game.
Graphics: Really solid, especially for having to cram 220 KM^2 onto a disc. The player models look good. The buildings look good. The trees look good. The grass is pretty nice...it sways in the wind. There are night vision goggles with that cool greenish glow and thermal scopes that puts everything in greyscale, but heat signatures in white (like the AC130 gunship level in CoD4). The guns look good, kills look good, animations are solid. The smoke effects are pretty nice, too.
Gameplay: It's hard. It's methodical. It takes patience, planning, and execution. You will die. You will try a new tactic. You will die again. You will try a new tactic once more. You might not die. It's rewarding.
Multiplayer: I got into one multiplayer coop game and died early. It's only because I was a doofus and stood in a doorway for 15 seconds allowing the enemy to skull frick me with an asasult rifle. I've had problems connecting to their servers after that one game. (I still can't connect to Yeti, either. I find this weird because I can get in a party with my brother and some of the other players I usually play with. This is a sad development.).
Overall, I love this game. It's not Call of Duty. It's not Brothers in Arms. It's not Medal of Honor. It's a slow, plotting game with a beautiful open world to play in. There are no cut scenes, just breifings and debreifings in the field. The opening cinematic is pretty nice, too. Actually, OpFlash is Far Cry 2 with a military plotline and better enemy AI.

Played it last night. Where's the tutorial? I started the campaign and it is pretty difficult. It is definitely not a run and gun game. It's no COD, but it'll due till 11-10-09.

I guess I'm calling the tutorial the very first level.

Holy shite, I totally missed the release date for this. As soon as I get my rig back working this is a definite buy for me.

quote:I'm not let down. Codemasters is supposed to be patching the game very soon. They'll hopefully fix a lot of the bugs that you see, especially the squad AI. I wish they had mapped the command radial to the D-Pad and made a gun swap button and another grenade button. Other than that, I love the single player campaign. The island is absolutely huge.
