Only three percent of games shown at E3 keynotes featured female protagonists

Female - 8%
Male - 92%
And this is just leads, not the options to play as female.

Isn't the stat that like 85% of gamers are male? It's a huge number, and of course they will gear their games towards their audience. I can't see myself as a female character as easily, so it would ruin my immersion to force me to play a female protagonist. Girls that do play games have the same issue I'm sure, but over 50% of the games shown allowed you to use a female character. I don't see the issue

I've seen stats that say about 50% of gamers are girls but I don't know how true they are. All those polls don't give much information. What even makes you a gamer?

Lots of Japanese games have female characters. Doesn't help women equality over there.
