They have to drop all their best items and all their cash on the ground AND THEN press that combo! Very important.
Besides that OP, OSRS is one of the grindiest games of all time if you really get into it. Experience-wise, level 92 is HALF of level 99. Craziness

Hey bud, welcome. I have played Old School since release (previously runescape when I was a kid like everyone else) and I have a few accounts on Old School. There is so much content in this game. End game bossing/raiding is very rewarding and has an insanely high skill ceiling, that is why I play. Download Runelite using an offical link from Jagex's website, or use their launcher (be wary of fake sites, this game has the most scams out of any game that has ever existed . Do not ever trust anyone, ever).
If you want a set of goals, knock out all of the free to play quests. If you use runelite, there is a plugin called "Quest Helper" that makes questing not a chore. If you decide to get membership, you'll want to get your Ardy Easy Diary cape, complete the quest line for Recipe for Disaster to unlock Barrows Gloves which are an amazing piece of gear. Defeat Jad for your fire cape, try out the wintertodt and tempoross minigames, and do slayer. Slayer is a skill that will make you rich.
If you use Runelite, there is a plugin called 117 HD which modernizes the look of the game, it is really cool to see.
The game is growing and there are constant content updates, the dev team is very active and is part of the reason I have kept playing all of these years. It's a game you start, but truly never quit.
I'll hook you up with a few mill in game from one of my accounts to get you started if you drop me your screen name, add Mikasas Toes.

I have an active RS3 membership today with the same account I've had since 2001 and I have over 18 months worth of hours played. Most of that spent AFKing while working or doing other things on my laptop.
You should know, most people do not quit playing runescape. They are merely on a break before they need their next hit. I would quit before it hits your veins.

I quit when they incorporated the feature that gave you your total game time. I played from about 2004-2009. Hardcore. When I saw the number I nearly tossed my lunch.
I do have about 2.5 billion in gold at the moment. Not the old school but the original which was once old school. lol. I had a Santa hat I bought for about 29 million when I quit and it went up to the max trade. I hoped on and sold it. at some point. Thus the max gold in the bank and about 400 to 700 mil in my gold pouch.

Wouldn't trade the experience, though. I learned a tremendous amount, in a staggering number of areas, playing that game as a kid/young adult.

I think you’re confused. You have to drop your best item, then press alt+f4. It causes some glitch that doubles your item when you pick it back up

Put so many hours into this. My main account is now on RS3 but I’m not a big fan of RS3 so I quit playing because I don’t feel like doing all the work on OSRS to get back to where I was with a new character.

This. I was so excited for Elder Scrolls Online. And after a month or so, I quickly realized I couldn’t sink as many hours into a game while in college like I could in middle/high school

I had an account before there were multiple versions of RS but it is gone now. Started playing both versions yesterday but didn't even get finished with tutorial island in OSRS since I find the one labeled simply "Runescape" much more user friendly (less inventory management since no flint, etc. to tote around).
So, if anyone is playing RS version I'm on free server World 34 as Pastafella now. Might go member in the future but too early as all my skills currently are 20 and less.

I played RS3 for ages then found out if you have membership for RS3 you can use same account on OSRS and it also has membership. I switched over to OSRS and have a group ironman with a buddy. It is super grindy and addicting and I love it.
I almost always have it on a second screen. The mobile app is really really great. I can do almost all content on mobile.

I played old school RuneScape way back in the day. The last thing I remember doing was the castle wars which was really cool.
I got an iPad for Christmas so I’m currently playing R3 on it right now - just restarted last night.
Don’t know if I want to go back to OSRS. Would be bad.
