I have no shame in admitting that I turned the difficulty down to Varsity. I wasn’t having fun. My arthritic fingers can’t work the sticks like they used to.

Yeah, my pride had to take a backseat if i wanted to not get pissed and stressed over a video game. I kept thinking, "not every game now has to be dark souls".

I dont have any complaints from H2H Ultimate Team last night. Finished the evening 4-2. The connection to the other player was fine, no lag, wasn't choppy or anything.
Defense is tough, offense took some time to get used too
Running between the tackles is hard AF in the game

Yeah
I didn’t bother looking at Heisman! Went ahead and played All American. It’s tough. My only outburst was around the read option controls. My 10 year old was killing me because they wouldn’t keep it lol

Yeah, I was getting my arse handed to me on All-American while online dynasty was up and running.

3) RPO.... i still don't quite get it. The controls are back asswards. Old NCAA and evey madden, if you wanted to keep the ball with the qb, you just didn't press down on A. It's the opposite now, and my brain hasn't rewired itself to think differently. I really have to pause before every RPO to talk to myself, "ok, if the key guy on defense goes with the RB, hold down a, if he stays, don't push a".
if you can rewire your brain to actually think like a QB, you might be able to break an old habit. that's what i'm trying to do. and reading the DE isn't as easy as it used to be either.

it was pretty obvious what the DE was doing back then. they actually creep now instead of coming to a dead stop.
if the QB wants to hold/keep the ball, it only makes sense to hold the button in order to do so. it's difficult, but with enough practice, i'll eventually get it.

I sat Josh Williams and started Kaleb Jackson. His speed is way better than Williams.
My passing game is terrible on All American. My defense is terrible on All American and not much better on Varsity.
Varsity was almost too easy on offense, until they figured me out. I have to mix plays and balance the run/pass game.
I am way behind on the defensive scheme and the controls, as I have not played much Madden over the last 8-10 years.
It`s going to be a learning curve and they will patch some of the things in the game. We have to remember this game is like any other game when they first come out this day and age. They use the consumers as the beta testers and i feel this is not necessarily a beta, but not exactly where they want it completely. They will fix a few things and we will get better and learn the mechanics and grasp the way it plays in time.
In the end we got something we never thought we would get back and I have something I can play on my PS5 finally. I`m usually not a person who is optimistic unfortunately, but I feel when i get a lot more playing time in, I will be happy with this game.

There’s some people in here with some very nostalgic driven glasses about NCAA14s gameplay. Earlier iterations of the game had a lot smoother/faster gameplay that this one reminds me of
Certainly some misses here like the formation subs and the change in option controls (I’m getting a hang of it now but seems like an unnecessary change) but they didn’t half arse this thing. Hopefully the patches can add on some things that aren’t quite there

also, is it safe to say that Mo Mamba is the new Seven Nation Army?

ALL WE WANTED WAS A RESKINNED NCAA14!!!!!
at minimum anyway.
either way, i'm really glad this game exists.

I mostly picked around in dynasty last night
Biggest takeaway is that the bug frome 14 seems to exist in this game too where your first season at any new gig simulates REALLY well

Just found my first “frick this shite” moment. Mostly simulated a season to get a feel for recruiting in dynasty. After year 1 with LSU our “Pro Potential” dropped from an A+ to a C+.
A bunch of players wanted to transfer because of it and ton of my recruits locked me out. Way too volatile!
Yeah, I won the CFP simulating with LSU
I did lose to UCLA and USCe

You running any H2H later tonight? I'm going to try and get some games in once the wife gets home and can help watch the baby. Won't really be able to get on until almost 8pm tonight

i suck way too much to do any H2H at this point. that'll lead me to shelving this game for good.

i need to stick to exhibition/practice mode before i get into the weeds of this game.

I went 12-1 as UNT, beat LSU, and went to the playoffs

Apparently it’s based on the likelihood of your current players getting drafted. Not sure how I feel about that.
I’m currently just behind Boise State as LSU

You simulated and won the CFP and your pro potential went down? How'd that happen?

This is the kind of shite i don't want to deal with in dynasty. So now i have to worry about getting my juniors and seniors stats rather than just playing the game?
