I went with dragon plate armor as I wanted to be able to make dragonscale or dragon plate and the heavy armor path would have taken one extra perk to get there.
I have all legendary dragon plate armor, and I just conjure weapons if I need them. I usually only have 12-15 lbs of stuff on me, and that's almost all potions.
Helmet - Fortify Destruction 27%, Magicka Regen 68%
Boots - Frost Resistance 41%, Fire Resistance 41%
Armor - Fortify Destruction 27%, Magicka Regen 68%
Gauntlets - Fortify Sneak 44%, Fortify Magicka 68 points
Ring - Magicka Regen 68%, Fortify Magicka 68 points
Necklace - Fortify Health 68 points, Fortify Magicka 68 points
In theory I'm a pure mage Breton, but lately I've been using Bound Bow and sneaking around trying to max out those two skills.

How does the Soul Trap enchantment work? I have it from de-enchanting something, but I haven't yet used it.
Does it just take killing one person/animal to fill any soul gem?

The bow is a lot more fun that I initially thought.
I had some perks to burn b/c my main skills weren't high enough for the next perk, so I used them on the archery perks that let you zoom in and slow down time ... It's pretty fun and makes archery a whole different beast.

Depending on how you enchant a weapon, when you strike someone/something with it soul trap will be cast and if they die within so many seconds, you can capture their soul. On one character I had a Daedric Battleaxe that cast it for 5 seconds I think, but they died in one or two hits. On my current mage character I have the conjuration perk which casts soul trap with bound weapons.
To capture their soul you have to have a large enough soul gem (petty, lesser, common, greater, grand, or black). You have to be careful though, because the soul will go into the smallest soul gem available but will not hesitate to go into a larger gem. For example, a skeever has a petty soul, but if all you have in your inventory are empty grand soul gems then it will go to that gem and you be wasting a lot of soul gem space. Black soul gems are the only things that can hold human souls, and only human souls can go in it. You can then use those souls for enchanting or recharging weapons.

I had initially ordered this game on PS3 then switched to Xbox the day before solely because i didn't want to deal with constantly recharging controllers. So glad I did.

I have been burning through batteries. One reason I haven't played much this weekend is I know the last batteries are about out and I didn't want to hit the store last night.

If I am conjuring bound weapons like the bow, would it level archery or just conjuration?
Posted on 12/10/11 at 4:22 pm to burgeman
Conjuration just for the initial spell then the xp will be for the weapon.
Posted on 12/10/11 at 4:22 pm to burgeman
You get conjuration skillups for summoning the weapons in the presence of an enemy, and then you get the appropriate weapon skillups for using the weapons. I'm not 100% on this next part, but I think I may have read that the weapon's damage is also tied in some part to your conjuration skill, but again I could be making that shite up.

That would make sense, given how you can't hone the weapon, there has to be some way to improve it.
Posted on 12/10/11 at 4:26 pm to sbr2
You can only improve bound weapons by using the perks which take you up to daedric.
From the Skyrim Guide I just checked, all XP goes to the weapon skill not conjuration. Only the initial cast get conjuration xp.

Do any other archers on here take pleasure in examining their kills after they one shot someone?
I noticed I do this every time. Walk up, "yep, that would definitely be a one shot in real life."
I get disappointed when it is a graze that counted as an instant kill.

Do they have a finishing kill sequence for a bow attack?
Nothing as satisfying as doing a 360 spin mace attack to an exploding head.

I've been fond of shooting women in the tit for some reason. I kind of feel like enchanting something with soul trap is a waste of an enchantment. I can either use the spell or set aside something like the Mace of Bolag and use that to fill up some gems when I need it. Also, why won't my fricking Skull of Corruption will not display anywhere. It ends up on the ground every time.

quote:No, but it is satisfying as hell when you smoke someone in the head or neck from 100 yards away.

So I finally got to do 2 enchants per item.. OP!!!! My magic resistance is maxed or close to it, and my destruction spells cost nothing to cast, and my magicka regen is still like 120%.. all while wearing light armor!
My follower has 80% addition damage reduction by blocking, like 120 extra HP, and some retarded amount of HP regen.. double enchanting is when you get OP.

If you outfit your follower right it's one of the many things that make the game too easy.
