Or just get into pc gaming.

That's actually what I'm doing now.

That's not the point. The point is that, since everyone wants to whine about no used games, more and more publishers now have to incorporate things like DLC and microtransactions to recoup that money. An elimination of used games would not only make games less DLC-dependent but also give publishers the ability to take more risks with their games instead of releasing Generic FPS 2013 in order to ensure that they sell enough copies.

You're also about to see available microtransactions skyrocket. HATS FOR EVERYONE.

Cliffy picked a horrible example. Hats are completely optional and offer no advantage on TF2.

@ CliffyB

Oh he mad.

A lot more people will consider an Xbox now, the removal of all the DRM changes everything.

Why would he be mad?

The guys a multimillionaire who is retired at 38 with royalties from Gears of War and the Unreal Engine still coming in. Not to mention he has a hot wife, lives in a very nice North Carolina beachfront home, and drives two badass Lambos.

Doesn't sound like a lot to be mad about IMO.

If you meant to say that he is correct then yes I agree with you.

Now instead of saying what it could bring why not say " No more disc games ,digital only and our game prices will be no higher then 39.99?"

I mean the system might be high but when gamers see prices like that they might flock to that system. Thus proving MS point about saving money.

Microsoft is a multi billion dollar company, they can set up their own stores to do this undertaking. It have to happen over night, why? Because in the world today, only tangible results matter, hell they could even go so far as to make all their FIRST party game 39.99 as a sincere proof of effort. But they didn't.

Are you serious right now?

They have a few MS stores now in bigger cities but regardless they do not have worldwide retail distribution capabilities and you are talking about decades to get there if they ever did at all before folding shop on that idea. WalMart is still adding locations to meet markets they aren't currently in and they have been the worlds largest retailer for 30 years now. MS is a tech company. Not WalMart.

Apple has its own stores for it's products and has been in retail longer than MS which started their few stores this year. Do you think they have worldwide distribution through just their stores? No. That's why you can buy Apple products anywhere. Again, because they are a tech firm first.

Not to mention that if your competitor (PS4) is in WalMart, Target, Best Buy, etc and you aren't then you are going to lose a lot of sales.

You've already bought some Xbox One digital games? Impressive.

I am not familiar with the used game market, accept to buy standalone type games (sega classics, dc vs mortal combat, and others). If I buy a used copy of cod or bf what will it take forme to play multiple player online.

Had already preordered by XB1. Don't care either way about the DRM policies(and would probably preferred they left it as it was as I've never once bought a used game).

But.... I'm happy I'll have a lot more friends to play with on Live now.

I don't know about sales, but after the pre orders went out, there isn't a console in st.louis metro to be found, for preorder. ALL GONE

I had to buy off of amazon

What i did find odd, was how many of the big titles(crossovers), are not coming out on or before the consoles hit the family rooms. Many not coming out till January, february, etc

Not as much as they would have had this been their strategy from the beginning.

I like this guys tweet
@LucasBetta

@IGN @GameOverGreggy Microsoft only changed its policies because of SONY! Not because of gamers! This is not an apology. This is surrender.

Better specs and $100 cheaper. Still going with a PS4
Are these "better specs" just like this generations? Where the PS3 has "better specs" but in the end the games look identical?

The consoles are 5 months away from release.

It is PR campaign to fix the negative appeal the Xbox One has to many gamers. They are selling just fine.

Sony patented a way to block used games at the end of last year. Console gaming is going in the direction of digital only sales and strict DRM. Sony just took advantage of some terrible marketing on Xbox's side of things.

At the very least I'm happy we once again have a console war. PS4 was ahead lightyears in popularity up until today

No, considering the system architecture won't be a count to develop on this generation.
