Heavy if you can control it...they're faster.
Karts for tracks that have more straightaways and bikes for tracks that have more turns seems to be the ideal way to do it, but that obviously isn't feasible since you can't change out every race.
I had been going with heavy's but for online play I may switch back to something with more acceleration because of all the wrecks. Nothing worse than being on bowser and getting hit with the finish line in site only to lose out since you can't accelerate for shite.

I also created a Mii, maxed out her height and weight, made her as fat and hideous as possible and named her Bertha. She has the same racing specs as Wario, Bowser, and Morton - the three super heavyweights. I use her online sometimes

So, has anyone been noticing if players have been using glitches and are cheating on this game? It happened to me on 3 games in 5 just now. I was behind someone, and I hear the spiky shell come by. I was in second and was close to the finish, so I'm laughing my arse off thinking it was about to cement my win, and then the fricker stops on me and puts me in 7th instead.
Next race is on Mario Circuit, I'm winning the entire time, no one really challenging me, and when I cross the finish line, I'm in second, despite no one passing me, and it was the same winner as last time.
The next time was in Yoshi Valley, when I hadn't even had a contender with me since the first lap. Low and behold one second before I cross the finish line, that same player magically appears in front of me in front of the finish line. And that guy finished first in the other 2 races as well, although I wasn't in as much contention to see exactly what he did at the end.
No way this dude isn't cheating, so how do you turn in people for doing that?

Meh, disagree. I usually go heavy, but if you're in a group of good players, and you keep getting clustered together and spun out 30 times a race, a smaller guy can be advantageous

Ok honestly, whose DICK do I have to suck on to get a fricking turtle shell in this game. Items depend on place my fricking arse. Oh you're in 8th? Have a frickING BANANA PEEL. What's that? Moved up to 5th? BETTER frickING TAKE 3 OF THE frickERS THEN.
It's like there's a million items in the game, and I only see 3. Banana peel, 3 banana peels, and a single fricking mushroom. Infuriating to no end to watch 2nd place get triple red shell while me, in 3rd, gets triple fricking banana peel. I don't even really want red shells. Just green shells would be nice.
God I forgot how much Mario Kart can make me rage out.
