Personally, I think the forging sucks in this game. Its a cool feature and im glad they added it. But the mechanics are shitty, just like the shooting and movement. its so stupid how things snap and cant overlap. There is a glitch to get around this, so why couldn't it just be implemented in the first place?
how come random things cant be deleted? The sanctuary sign is stuck there, as are all the ugly bushes
that said, I have seen people make some impressive stuff

there seems to be conflicting reports on this. I wonder what the definitive answer is?

Can we get these useful posts linked in the first page somehow?

This is what I assumed happened. I was just happy to have all that carry capacity.

I haven't broken down any item outside of the scrap around sanctuary. Knowing that there is very limited copper and circuits there, the large amount of copper/circuits I currently have, has to have come from items I have transferred into the workbench.
Now I have no idea how it breaks it down and in what order..if a phone and a fan both have copper how does it decide which to break down first? It doesn't break anything down until you build/craft something.

I know you instantly have the resources when you store junk in the workshop. This quote seems to suggest that when you store all junk it "breaks down" all the resources. I think this has been proven to be false. You don't have to break them to use them in builds but as soon as you build something (say with copper for instance) the other resources from that item gets trashed and not usable. This tells me that things are NOT broken down in the way that user suggested.

OK so, you can still retrieve your item intact from the workbench as long as you didn't build something that required the circuit board in it (for example).
The word "automatic," while still accurate is a bad word to use.

correct. If anything he should have said "you have instant access to any resources from junk stored in the workbench" or something like that.

I have what may be a stupid question.
How do you screenshot, and upload said screenshot, on the X1?

Just double tap the guide button and press Y. The screen shot happens once the guide button is pressed not the Y button. The Y button just tells the Xbox to save it. So technically the screen shot is taken before the pause menu comes up. And just tried it to make sure. Used the guide button to screen shot and it worked fine. Dont worry about the pause menu coming up.

About 5 or 6 hours in, just defeated the raiders at Corvega plant. Seems like a lot of crap to stay on top of from some of the posts in here. When can I start assigning duties?

I need some help.
I have no clue what I'm doing when I'm building for my settlers. Is it just patch work to the houses that are still standing or do I have to build houses?
