Pro tip.

If I'm out of lockpicks and a radio is near by. I turn that bitch on as an easy locator to a safe or whatever it is I need a picking.

Alright, I was all set to go pick this up in a few hours...but I'm hesitant to do so. It's getting really, really shitty user reviews (pause for laughter) metacritic.

I'm not normally one to GAF about the user scores there, but the scores seem so abnormally low it does make me take a second to decide. I realize I'm in a Fallout fanboy thread, but I'd like an honest assessment of the game play and mechanics on both the PS4 and PC. I was gonna get it for PC, but users have said that they cannot adjust keybinding and that is pretty much a no-go for me. Thanks.

Right now, scores are 5.4 and 4.8 for PS4 and PC, respectively.

I've never played any of the fallout games so I'm completely new to this and maybe why I'm so lost with the combat and other things. A few questions-

Is the rocket garage my base? Is there any reason for me to be picking up everything I find? When using the VATS, what numbers should I be trying to hit? How th frick do you kill that big claw guy? How do I find Wordsworth (or whatever the robots name is) again?

The most tempting thing to do when starting these games. Every item will serve a purpose at some point, but there's no point in hoarding it until you know you'll need it. Some crafting items will need this, that, or the other, but don't clog up your inventory until you know it's necessary.

The percentages will tell you the chance you have in hitting that particular part of the enemy. But TO THIS DAY, I only ever aim for the head, so their all just blurry numbers to me.

Deathclaws are notorious pain-in-the-arse-ruin-your-day mobs, so if you're just starting off, you have no chance in taking them down. I haven't faced one yet so I don't know when exactly that's advisable.

The lower the user score, the less I care.

I'm 2 hours in and new to fallout. I'm very impressed. I'm on PC and it runs great but I use a game pad.

This game will probably be a letdown to any people but that's more because of ridiculous expectations.

I'm avoiding any and all reviews, especially user.

So it's known here that I get whiny about "baby stuff" in games, and I'm aware that I should get over it, but playing the beginning of this game after putting your boy to bed.............dammit

(SPOILER EVEN THOUGH THIS IS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME)

So I had this thought: you're now looking for your son............but there are side quests. Would seem like you're an irresponsible father if you're hunting down pre war books if you're son is still missing

Deathclaw? once he comes out of the ground, go back into the building you came out of, and go upstairs to the balcony that Preston Garvey is shooting from, then you can just shoot at him from up there without getting touched. he hides a lot that way, so it does take a while, but it works

I've just started listening to Jeff talk about this game.................I'm tempted to stop. He hasn't started blasting it yet, but I'm waiting.

Any crazy technical issues with this game like there was with New Vegas?

Jeff Gerstmann of Giant Bomb. Dok and I listen to their weekly bombcast, and Jeff notoriously hates everything.

Dave Lang is on this weeks, and he explained a big reason that bugs like these games always have exist. There are so many scenarios that can play out in a game like this because you can do anything. What happens if you collect every fork in the world and pile them into this one bathroom? You can QC the crap out of the game but you can never test everything.

Jeff doesn't hate it, he just does that thing where he talks about why he doesn't care for it that much the whole time. Then he gives it 4 stars and says it's a good game Basically he does like Destiny where he harps on the bad stuff then does a livestream raid. I was wondering if you had listened yet.

Lang was awesome this week. I loved when Arkham Knight came up because that put him in a tough spot for sure. he gave a lot of cool insight into the business side of things though.

Ok gotcha. I thought you were talking about Giant bomb as I've seen you and others discuss the show a handful of times on the GB. I'm subscribed to their podcast on my phone but don't listen to it much and didn't know their names.

Jeff has been in games forever, so there's really no one better. But he's a bit salty at the same time. One of the funnier personalities I've seen out there.

Creeper Jeff

Chicken Games

Teleprompter isn't working

Dance mooves
