I like Santuary Hills, Sunshine, & The Castle

I'm a bit embarrassed. I think I've now spent about a year in the wasteland, built all of the settlements, had a few side pieces and I just went looking for Shaun last weekend.

If you keep doing minutemen quests, it will eventually be marked on your map as a settlement to retake.

If you continue doing Minuteman stuff, you will end up getting a "taking independence" quest -- the area you claim in that is what gets called "the castle".
It is mid map, way to the east.
Ps. You can use (shack floors + foundation) to help patch the walls there.

I really need to start building up my settlements.

Me too. All of mine are in the same exact condition as I found them in.

Is there anyway to cure Molerat disease after giving that kid the cure?

Can the doctor not cure you?

No, you either keep the cure for yourself or hand it over to the kid. Maybe you could somehow avoid getting bitten but that would be tough seeing as to how molerats dig.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that I read a forum post where a guy was going to restart his level 40 toon because he was pissed about the permanent negative effect.
OCD much?
It did bug me for a bit. I got over it.

I haven't gotten that far yet, but if it bugs me enough, I'll just use the console to get rid of it. Beats rerolling.

Molerats literally popped out of dirt holes from the ceiling on top of my head. I believe is was structured so you HAD to get bit and make the choice. DICK move Bethesda.
Maybe there is a food or chem than can be crafted. So far no doctor in any town can cure it.

Copy/pasta from another forum:
quote:
You will contract the disease if: You get hit by a mole rat Your companion gets hit by a mole rat The protectron you can activate via terminal gets hit by a mole rat Long story short, don't use a companion (or have them stay by the entrance), don't activate the protectron and Don't Get Hit. I was able to get through without catching the disease by abusing VATS and quick saves. Note that the mole rats can be hit by grenades even while underground. If you get ambushed and have to reload, toss a Molotov Cocktail at the ground where the Mole Rat would appear and roast it early. Also note that burrowed mole rats Will trigger mines. I tried to use mines on top of where they would spawn and blew myself up.

Bastards at Sanctuary finally went all touchy feely with my Power Armor.
I lined all 8 of them up nicely and when I ported into the settlement a Super Mutant attack started. Fairly weak attack.
Walked back to my house and 5 of the 8 suits were gone.
I got 4 of the settlers to get out by clicking on the suit but the 5th one is my village doc and she won't get out.
Oh and I guess the suit took damage even though I saw none of those folks anywhere near the attack and some of the pieces were missing.
So yes as others said, remove the damn cores.

Ha! I thought I had discovered everything. A million hours in and I thought I had walked from one end of the waste to the next.
After doing an insane number of settlement quests, out of the blue Preston assigned a quest for a new settlement.
Hit level 80.
