I listen to every holotape and read every note.
Edt:
1. Not enough IMO, lol
2. If on PC there is a mod which sorts items better and indicants which tapes/notes have been read.

There are too many of those damn things and they ought to have an indicator showing if I already listened to the damn thing.

Dogmeat and I waltzed right through Trinity Tower, no issues.

Depends what time you hit it up.
Mid/late game, a breeze but if you encounter very early... super mutants can be a bitch.

Also depends if the area scales with the game progression. If it doesn't it will be simple. Normal mutants run from me. Super Mutant Warlords can take a hit and roll.
I've started wandering the glowing waste, just to kill Deathclaws. First Albino I ran into on that quest was super hard. Now, not so much.
Ran into some glowing mean scorpion and it took about 30 shots from my shotgun in its face and tail to kill the pecker.

That is a bug from what I have read. The actual stuff in the workshop doesn't count towards the cap and yes there is a cap.
The bug is that breaking down items causes the cap to decrease. So it allows you to build larger structures than they want.
Here's a different way to do the unlimited settlement size glitch on console or on pc
LINK
quote:
Here is what you can do to overcome this size limit on your settlement:
Put any number of weapons (10 to 12 recommended) into the workbench inventory at the location you are planning to reduce the size of.Grab all your guns and place them back into your character inventory.Enter your inventory and drop all the guns you are using for this.Go into workshop mode.Move the cursor over a gun and tap the store button (B on Xbox One or O on PS4) and the gun will automatically return to the workshop inventory. When this happens, the size meter in the top-right corner of workshop mode should decrease slightly.Repeat step 5 for all the guns you dropped until the size bar becomes empty. The catch here is that you can use the same guns to repeat this trick over and over.
Just spent the day doing it with my castle and now it's like fort knox

Currently 890 defense and the only way in is through a small opening in the main door

Jumping in power armor around a settler will set off the whole settlement to attack you.

Super Mutants are beastly early in the game.
Did the towers. Piece of cake. There weren't any tough baddies that scaled at all.
Not sure why the didn't have one of those fun suicide mutants. Plus all of the Super Mutants were spread out.
That memorial hospital was tougher with everyone piling into that entrance room along with suicide bombers outside and inside.
Guess I need to decide which group I want to stick by and then probably finish the main story this weekend.

Is it the BOS vs. The Minutemen?
Can't say I'd even consider siding with the BOS at this point.
Random question, I'm currently trying to just hold all my settlements (10 in all, I think) in the green. I think the highest defense I have right now is 18 or so and they aren't being attacked. Should I consider building them up even though they are green?

They won't be attacked unless their food/water stores are at a good number. So, as long as the defense is reasonable and the water/food isn't too high, they shouldn't be attacked very often at all.

Green has nothing to do with safety. That is your build limit indicator.
Initially, I read that you needed to keep your defense double your food + water to keep from being attacked.
That is nonsense. I have well more than double D and I still get attacked. Heck, some settlements probably have triple D.
The one settlement I visited was glitchy yesterday with plants dying while I was IN the settlement.

Yeah the double defense to food is not true, if it is then something is broken.
My RedRocket aettlement has 9 food and 275 defense with 2 settlers and still gets atacked.

Which is settlement is the best to build up? I currently have 5. Sanctuary, Red Rocket, Abernathy Farms, Greentop Nursery, and Tenpines Bluff.
