Just gotta learn what I need and what I don't
ammo (for weapons you're actually using)
bottle caps
pre-war money (you sell for bottle caps)
cigarettes (ditto)
magazines (for stat increases)
stimpacks (grab every one you can)
bobby pins
I really don't mess with anything else. There are quests that will require you to collect other items like pre-war books and scrap metal, so you'd collect those then as well. If you run across nuka-cola quantum bottles, collect those too for an eventual quest.
I typically don't mess with the rad-x and other medicines. I'll just find a doctor at some point.
As far as perks, the two I ALWAYS level up are sneak (just how I play games), and lockpick, because nothing annoys me more than coming across a door I can't open.

Amazon pre-order. I don't pay a dime until it's released, so I can back out whenever.

I can back out

Couldn't even do that yet. The game was on amazon, but the PC pre-order wasn't an available option.

Didn't read but agree with the title

I decided a while ago that I absolutely HAD to start 2 threads: this one, and the one for Half Life 3. I'm good at 50%, praying for 100%.

This game is the #2 seller right now on Steam and it doesn't even have a release date.

Fallout 3 has had a one thousand percent increase in sales on amazon too

Started leveling up big guns, speech, and something else
Don't level up on Speech too much, it's pretty useless in Fallout 3, there are only a few times throughout the entire game the speech helps. Small guns and repair are pretty critical.

So I've never played a Fallout game before but I've been really excited about this game coming out because my friends told me about all of the old games. So this afternoon I sat and read about all of the factions, cities and history of the world. This is all so crazy. What's everyone's opinion of the Enclave?
Also if I was only going to play one, Fallout 3 or New Vegas, before this one is released which one would ya'll choose?

I think 3 is the better game, but NV did add a few mechanics that make the game a little more in-depth. Like I said, neither one of the games are tied together story wise, so I think you can pick either one and not go wrong.

Fallout Wikia
Has everything you need to know. I've read a lot of stuff on there over the past day and it's insane how the world came to be like it is. How Vegas was basically the only place that survived the Great War and why so many people didn't go to their shelters. It's a very interesting thing to read about. It's like a nightmare almost.

There's not a lot of difference between the two. New Vegas has a lot of cool mini games and sidequests. But overall I liked Fallout 3 better.

I assume they can both be purchased digitally for fairly cheap on the Xbone?

Dammit. I'm gonna start over ine last time
No big deal tho. It's like I'm hours in. I'm basically just out of the vault

They don't port many games from 360 to the One. So the answer is no. You can find cheap copies to play on your 360 or ps3/4 at your local gaming retailer though.

PC will get the better looking game, but with all the bugs.
But with all the mods!

Think it's confirmed that you're building your own power armor. Hope they're incorporating armor/weapon customization as well. Look at these two screenshots (notice the suppressed rifle propped on the chair by the dog in the first):
In the 2nd shot the suppressed rifle has been replaced with the rifle the guy is seen carrying at the end of the trailer. Also the way the dog is sitting there staring at the armor, the protagonist has gotta be inside of it.
Hope that's Troy Baker voicing the PC.
