i once had 3 false starts in a row starting a drive 1st and 25 before half. and with the way the defense is in this game, i could not get the first. screwed out of at least a FG.
why did i get 3 false starts in a row AT HOME?
and that's just one example. and it's existed for decades.
I'm 41. I have played these games, including Madden since 96. I have never once felt the games are scripted. When crazy comebacks do happen it usually has something to do with me making a bunch of stupid mistakes, or being too conservative. The cpu has always been coded to play more aggressive when they are behind in the second half, which is actually like real life. I've never once seen 3 false starts in a row(not even 2 in a row) and I've played over 100 games so far of 25 version. Never felt like there were too many holding penalties go against me either.
In this year's version the AI is actually intelligent enough to stop what you have been doing well and to go back to what you have had trouble stopping. That is the only kind of "comeback mode" you and a few others on operation sports are seeing. Personally I think it's a joke you have fun taking Coastal Carolina to a championship(probably got there didn't you?) in such little time and then complain the cpu almost cheated you.
Just curious, what do you say when we are the one making lucky plays and wild comebacks against the cpu because we are having to be aggressive. Who's fault is it then?

With WVU I run a lot out of the pistol and run weak side zone. I’ll shift my tight end sometimes.
I also run inside zone out of every gun formation that has it.
On the goal line qb sneak it or line up in full house and run hb power.
I’ve started sneaking in hb dive with fake jet sweep, you gotta be patient on that run.
I rarely use the RPO

I haven’t touched my sliders but penalties outside of stupid roughing the punter barely occur.
I’ll occasionally get a roughing the passer, or the cpu will get a late hit penalty. Once every few games the cpu gets a pass int. I stopped fake snapping because I’d get a false start so now those never occur

that's the problem. just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it wasn't there.
i've played the game with 0 crashes. yet, there numerous people here complaining about it. but i'm not over saying, "i've never seen it so it really doesn't exist."

I don't necessarily mind the whacky shite that tends to happen in the game. In real life college football, you see some inexplicable nonsense due to a number of factors, so in my mind I reconcile the video game chaos as representing the real life weirdness.
Also, if the weird shite didn't happen, I'd likely never lose a game where I have the better roster. The randomness sometimes can be infuriating, but for me it adds to the fun of it, as sick as that sounds.

No you are the badass taking Coastal Carolina as far as you have. I'm using Minnesota and I'm only 5-4 on the year. All American. The games I lost were to better teams but they have all seemed fair.

I play on All American too. I'm in year 4 of my dynasty, the other seasons were tough. I just have my team at a 86 overall now, and I mop the floor with the lower tier Sunbelt teams, and usually play close with the top 2-3 Sunbelt teams.
My class sucks this year though, so I'm gonna have a rough season next year. I'm hoping I can pivot this great season in to my class for next year.

I just had a WR beat man coverage by about 5 yd and the QB threw the ball a little short so the CB jumped up, batted the ball, and then it hit my WR in the foot, flew about 10 yards in the air where the safety picked it off, broke the tackle of my WR, and housed it.

that's the point. i don't play football games for the difficulty of it. i play them so i can veg out on the couch after a long day. i don't need to come home and worry about different coverages and how to make adjustments that usually never work. i also don't want to feel like i have to sweat my arse off to make sure the CPU becomes unstoppable.
i hate losing. especially due to shite i can't control. like the offensive line committing a false start or my RB fumbling the ball or a QB always throwing into the hole of a zone coverage.
i like to win and if i have to cheese to do then so be it.

I found this post that might make you feel better about not being a comeback mode.
"This ai comeback code is the FIRST thing I check about any sports game I dig into.
From past sports games this does happen. In other sports games, it happens only during franchise. Quick play/ exhibitions are fine (old pes series, nhl series, MLB The Show)
So I just tested this CFB 25 play now on Heisman level with equal slider point distributions , i have less value on run block, but more on pass block.
. I picked 2 teams with the same overall score (PSU at michigan). I switched my controller over to michigan and let psu score 3 quick TDs in a minute or so.
One theory in this thread is once a team is up 14 points, the shenanigans start. Or another is the 2nd half. So I wanted to see if Michigan a conservative offensive team will turn into the 99 show on turf rams.
Results after 4 minutes into the 4th quarter is PSU leading 51-17. So I was able to actually BUILD on the early 21-0 head start. Michigan did not whatsoever turn into a super team.
I'll do a similar test later within dynasty, but at the very least, from this first test game, there really isn't comeback ai in play now mode. I'm expecting this holds true in dynasty mode, as I just laid a whoopping on Arizona away playing as colorado by more than 3 scores. Built my lead in the 2nd half as well.

Took the HC job at Liberty after one season in the fun belt and lost 75% of my good players to the transfer portal and Im in the top 5 of very few legit recruits. This might be an uphill battle

It’s taken. WVU to back national titles and being in year 3 to get massive interest from 5 stars at wvu.
I will probably start a new dynasty soon it’s either gonna be in the big 10 or going the rebuild route and taking a non p5

Got my second shutout, both vs K-state. This one pounded them 45-0 in big 12 title game which we have met in 3 times in a row.
Managed to hold them to 3 first downs, 86 yards of offense - 68 rushing 18 passing yards
They went 3/11 in passing and 2 picks along with a lost fumble.

It is everything I can do to not delete this game. The amount of wide open receivers that the game stops me from throwing the ball to is astounding. The guy can be standing on an island and I am mashing the button and nothing happens

That’s weird. I have had the game not respond on the first push of a kick off return selection a few times.
It also refused to snap the ball one time when I motioned someone. That only happened once though

RTG is all I have done. I quit for the day vs GA in the SEC championship. I was down 13-10 with enough time for one drive. Game decides to simulate the last drive and I lose. I've seen it simulate drives randomly but I couldn't tell you why. This was infuriating

Sounds like lag or something else wrong with your controller. Nobody else seems to be having that problem.
