Only strength for your gear req. no magic from what I understand as you’ll get it through gear. Should be mainly vitality

Anyone an expert on how to craft? As much as I played back in the day I never did it
Posted on 10/2/21 at 10:27 am to geauxtigers87
I never got into crafting either. I need to research it.

We really need a list of what bases & craft items to hold on to

Really the only thing i know about crafting relates to amulets. You want to hit lvl 93 and gamble for amulets. item lvl(ilvl) 89 and higher amulets can roll +2 to skills. When you gamble, the ilvl of what you are gambling for can be 4 levels lower or higher than your character level (hence why you want to be 93 so all amulets are ilvl 89 or higher).
You gamble for uniques, etc and then take the magic ones and craft those. You can get some GG amulets that way.

I thought you could only craft like basic white items. I'm a total newbie at crafting. Been trying to read online.

Well....I’ll give you 3,500 gold. And if I’m the only one willing to pay that then...there is your worth.

I would still contact tech support as they are required to answer all tickets. Tell them your character disappeared. Tell them it's a bug or something. Play dumb and don't say you deleted it. See what they say.
"My character was there then I logged out and next time I logged on it was gone. It still hasn't shown back up. I've had other characters go away and come back but this one hasn't."
It's worth a shot. If they ask you if you deleted it, deny deny deny.

Anyone have a good understanding of how the imbuing system works?
Imbuing is based on the CHARACTER level at the time of the imbue. You need a plain white item, usually weapon that has +skills on it to get the best opportunity to roll something really nice. Imbuing circlets is also an option as they can roll good stats (+2 to skills) but won't have +skills already on it. I imbued a white bow for my zon that had +3 to blow and crossbow skills that rolled decently. Still wasnt better than buriza but held me over until I found one. Just don't expect to get a GG item. Odds are low.
I am by no means an imbue expert but that's basically what I know about imbuing.
You can save it or use it as you level based on what gear you have.
Just keep in mind it's probably going to be shite either way. Chances of getting some good rolls is pretty low. I dave mine but I've only gotten a couple really good rolls

This is mostly right but really applies to high level characters that have good gear. When you're playing through the game it is definitely okay to add points in energy in normal and nm, you're not necessarily going to have the gear that has all the plus mana, energy etc.
You get three respecs so don't be afraid to spend points where you need them as you level.
When you're level 90 with all bis items, then yes your gear will have everything you need on it.
When I respeced hammerdin at level 18 I put 50 points in energy so I had mana to throw hammers. Later when I got to hell and got some gear I just repeced out of energy and I was fine because my gear had what I needed.

So i actually crafted 2 rings and an ammy last night. 2 of the 3 were ok. If you are a caster Definitely keep flawless amethyst in your bag for the gem shrines to get a perfect because each craft is one of those plus any jewel. So make sure you pick those up too

You get three respecs
I actually think this is the flaw of Diablo 2. There should be infinite respec for people that don’t or can’t play a ton and not be scared to try different types of builds.

there used be none so 3 is great to me

Yeah really. Back in the old days if you fricked up one point in attributes or skills, you start a new character
Posted on 10/3/21 at 11:17 am to Hu_Flung_Pu
There are more respecs than that. You need to kill some of the act bosses in hell and they drop items you can combine to create new respec items, so technically there are unlimited now.
I still wouldn't waste the free respecs though because most players will never get to the point where they're able to comfortably farm for new ones in hell.
When I play a sorc, I know exactly what skill points I need where, but I will dump some points in energy early to make leveling more tolerable. I'll use a free respec to clean that up later and do str/vit only.
Similarly if you're playing a melee build like a barb or zealer, don't be a masochist, and put some points in dex until you get some good items that help with your hit rate
