I've been using the grass cress shield lately, but only on back for that sweet stamina regen, and then just two-handing my carthus curved sword. I've been considering ditching the shield altogether.

yeah, I've been two handing my weapons a lot lately, but still use the shield of want (extra souls lol).

ETA: the reason I don't shield is because the shield can trivialize a fight... So I don't like using one that much

The difference between the worst, lightest armor and the best "light" armor is really kind of negligible. Every piece of armor in the same slot has the same defense bonus in this game, they just have difference absorption%s. The % is really small difference (equivalent to very small damage numbers) until you reach fat armor really. As long as you have SOMETHING equipped in all 4 slots you're pretty good off.

I had put 15+ attempts into Pantiff Sulyvahn and got tired of it, and put a shield on... This is why I don't shield often, first attempt with a shield:

Also, my VIT is 22 now, not as high as I thought, but still I have put some points into it.

Yea, I installed the patch and couldn't sign in last night.
Well, I finally see what y'all have been talking about. Frick Pontiff Sulyvahn, seriously. Thats just ridiculous how he constantly attacks. I beat him in 5 tries, which surprised me honestly. After the 1st time I was thinking theres no way I'll defeat him solo.
This was the 1st boss that I was seriously pumped to beat. My heart was pounding when he went down, out of estus and a sliver of health left I made a well timed dodge to get the final blows.
Well, I finally see what y'all have been talking about. Frick Pontiff Sulyvahn, seriously. Thats just ridiculous how he constantly attacks. I beat him in 5 tries, which surprised me honestly. After the 1st time I was thinking theres no way I'll defeat him solo.

man that video makes me angry, the first fight I was doing amazing and made 1 stupid mistake that cost me... the one I won: I made like 20 mistakes, but didn't make a mistake when it mattered - at the end when you don't have time to heal

I did not have any trouble with the Pontiff. I had Great Chaos Fire Orb which would basically insta-kill the clone.

Very nice. I believe I need to start getting my stamina up a lot higher. I think it is around 14 or 15 right now. Dex is at I believe 19 or 20.

I accidentally killed the clone while attacking bc they were both bunched together. Briefly breathed a sigh of relief..........until he just summoned another one. I almost yelled at my tv, "OHHH COME ON!!
