I forgot to nab a ring in untended graves in NG+2, and had to fight him in NG+3. I parried him in NG+2, but dodged all of his attacks. It was one of the best boss fights I've had in the game. It makes me said there aren't more 1v1 fights with no extra bullshite.

Any place to farm quick Medals in PVE? I'm at 17 now, wouldn't mind doing Gundyr over and overc but I'd rather not

Go to the tower thing and go down instead of up and follow that path

You can farm in Lothric Castle, once you've beaten Dancer, but it's much easier to co-op. Drop rates for all covenant items are abysmal.

Sunlight Medals? Just go drop a sign outside of a level appropriate boss and repeat. That is the easiest covenant item to farm.

Sunlight is easy. I'm about to begin the process of respecing into a 99 luck build w/Anri straight sword, and farm the frick out of the silver Knights, and the ghuru people.

I had no problems with regular mobs till I hit the Ithyrl Bordal Valley. Those dudes with the huge fire cross cheesing me from like 50 ft away with the Pyromancy that explodes the ground below me while 4-5 other enemies attack me at once is rough.

I think I have to get past level 47 and invest more in my damage scaling so I can take those mobs out in 1-2 hits.

I beat Oceiros last night, I feel like the game is finally coming to a close... for as unforgiving as the game is, and how not-fair&balanced the game is... I'm actually kinda getting sad that my first play through is coming to an end. Can not wait to spend all weekend trying to beat Champion Gundyr though

(this is purely on speculation from the discussion in this thread..... )

Knight + Fire Gem gift is probably the most versatile start. The game is more linear than DA1 so you don't need to worry about going the "wrong way." Overall I think this game is more straightforward than DS1.

Certainly straightforward. Love the high cooperation rates. I get invaded instantly when I have ember or whatever it's called but I just hide for like 30 seconds and blue sentinels absolutely pour in. This is the most active co-op of the series to me.

And what's up with the purple dudes? I've seen some that enemies attack (mobs) and others just ignored by them. What's the difference?

They are mad phantoms. They get rewards for killing the host (you), but also from killing his phantoms (blues, yellows, whites, and reds). So you never know what they are thinking.

They may help you co-op the entire level, killing all red phantoms along the way, they may want to dual immediately, or they may stab you in the back half way through helping you. There is really no good reason to summon them other than for the lulz and unpredictability.

You can farm them for Vertebra shackles, I guess. If you want to do that, grab a friend and summon him. Then hang out and summon purple phantoms. 2v1 them for shackles and rinse and repeat.

Also on the blue phantom note, yeah Blade of the Darkmoon and Blue Sentinels got super shafted this game. So there are a whole ton of people waiting to get summoned and relatively few Way of the Blues to trigger summons.

It honestly makes invasions a lot less fun given how often you end up 1v3 or 2v4.

The next patch is supposed to address DMB & BS summoning issues. My plan is to stop leveling at 100, and see if the patch makes it easier to get summoned. I really don't want to have to respec into an all Luck build just to farm those silver knights for days.
