Good get for Xbox. JRPGs is probably their weakest area. The 2nd one in particular is legitimately amazing. A lot more SQE titles are going to make their way there. I doubt previous big titles like FF16 will but FF17 will for sure.

You need to play 2 as fast as you can. It’s a substantial improvement and the best IP using the classic sprite style I can remember in like 10+ years

ive been interested for a bit but my backlog is big and time limited.

Kind of but also not really. The style of game it is and how it weaves its narrative structure is incredibly unique so while not required by any means to enjoy it and 2 is a much better game in all ways I recommend it.

Apparently the first one is playable through the cloud on mobile with touch screen capability. I guess I'll give it a shot while I'm off work the next couple weeks.

Been playing the first game, and I'm honestly shocked by how good the voice acting is. These folks went all out on voice acting and spent like $0 on cutscenes.

I've been spending time playing more retro stuff lately, and I really dig how they kept the soul of that era while employing some modern things to make it a better experience.

It's a really good game. I had previously only played the demo for this on Switch and didn't really enjoy it but playing through it now has been pretty fun.
