I was telling a friend that it amazes me that they revamped so much, the visuals are so advanced and unique, yet every scene, monster, location they showed was definitely from OoT.

I give Nintendo a lot of crap, but I'll give them props for this. It's going to be an amazing experience.

Do you know if this list is accurate? LINK

Maybe I'm missing it, but these all appear to be third party games. That has also been my experience. I'm just not aware of any first party Nintendo games that use this game key thing.

ETA: Looks like Nintendo said back in 2025 that they have no plans to use game key cards for first party titles. Maybe that's changed, but I'm just not aware of any that have been released yet. LINK

I still play OoT on the N64 all the time.

This looks pretty incredible. I don't want to watch very much because I want to be blown away by what all the "adult" Link part of the game looks like and not ruin it now. I can only imagine what the Spirit Temple and Desert Colossus will look like.

The detail in Link's hat alone is crazy.

I hope that's actually on a Switch 2 and they didn't demo it on a PC or something.

90% of my playtime on the Switch/2 has been on first party titles.

New Castlevania might tip that towards Third Party, and if the delay on Bloodstained: The Crimson Engagement is to get Switch 2 development to launch on Day 1, that'll definitely push the numbers away from Big N games.

Otherwise, I'm all in on Splatoon Raiders & OoT until something else comes along.

The redeads in the market after you get the master sword made 9 year old me shite my pants. If they were as detailed as this they might have put me in the grave.

Same, it's basically a first party Nintendo gaming platform for me.

The Shadow Temple and Bottom of the Well are going to be nightmare fuel

There was someone here that was very much against the art design of Link when they teased it a few months ago. Whoever that was, did this reveal change your mind at all?

Guess I’m alone in thinking the visual design is atrocious. It looks like the fan-made Unreal videos from a few years ago that everyone roasted. Kid Link and Zelda faces are objectively awful.

That being said, I’ll be buying a Switch just for this. Looks to be a 1:1 gameplay remake and for a top 5 game all time, that’s enough for me

Thanks for posting the link. Just pre-ordered the physical edition because I want that hologram look. Hopefully that's the one! Would be awesome if the keycard or whatever it's called is gold. I feel like a kid again.

I went ahead and ordered physical edition of that Splatoon raiders game. I remember liking the first one.

I think it looks good but it looks a little too much like every Zelda game that's released now. You take a still from the video and there's nothing that makes it stand out. You look at the original OoT and you immediately know what it is. Wish it looked a little more unique.

I never played the N64 entries when they came out, and only played OoT on the N64 Nintendo Classics once they were available on Switch 2 upon launch.

If I got an hour into it, I'd be shocked. I'm usually not one to hold it against retro titles for their graphics, but it was the controls that took me out of the game.

I'm looking forward to playing this with the benefit of modern controls.

Yeah I'm in the camp that think it visually looks unappealing on the whole.

Everything has like a plasticy sheen to it. There's a certain charm that gets lost when you try to take something that was cartoony and make it look "real" I think you end up with the worst of both worlds. It sitll looks cartoony but now it has absolutely no warmth and actually looks more fake than before.

Also hate all the environmental effects, particularly the fog. I don't find it atmophseric I find it annoying.

Bingo. You can’t mesh photorealistic elements with fantastical visual design, you need to pick one and commit. They would’ve been better served with a slightly more modern BOTW look

They're saying it's "while supplies last," so in typical Nintendo fashion it will likely be based on when you made your order and you won't know for sure until it arrives. At least, that's how it worked with the Switch 2s that were bundled for about $30 cheaper vs the Switch 2s that weren't bundled and required a separate purchase of Mario Kart World. In that instance, I was actually happy I "missed out" because the bundled version had a digital code for Mario Kart World instead of a cartridge. I didn't think they were clear about that prior to the presales, but the version you got was literally based on when you placed your order.

Hopefully I get a hologram one, but honestly I'll be happy either way. I'm just glad somebody isn't crazy enough to stop doing physical releases. If I get the hologram one I'm likely to never open it and go buy another copy for playing.
