Playing it now.

I love it.

They do hold your hand for quite a while, but the combat is challenging and the story is intriguing.

Yep, I'm about 5 hrs into the game and loving it.

Have you guys figured out how the metamorphisize familiars yet? Is it just by feeding them treats?

They have to be a certain level. Then you feed them sun/moon/star drops in the familauir cage menu. It says which ones are ready.

I was just looking at a review. I'd been waiting for localization, but didn't realize it was already out. I'll get it tonight. Any deals to be had?

A little help for in the future. You can scroll through the combat menu with L2 and R2 instead of direction pad. Also try to do every side quest possible before advancing the main story because the bosses can be tough.

Just got home with it, though I won't be able to play until later. Thanks for the tips.

I got the special edition and finally started playing it tonight. 2 hours in, it's a ton of fun. It's definitely is unique and I recommend it to anyone who likes old school RPGs.

It's made by Level 5 (Dragon Quest 8 and 9, Rogue Galaxy, White Knight Chronicles, Dark Cloud, etc.) and Studio Ghibli (animation studio of great fame).

Indeed, I took some time just looking around once I got to the world map.

I am in love with this game, anyone with a PS3 who is remotely interested in the RPG genre must buy this. The visuals are unbelievable, I find myself just standing still and staring at my environment over and over.

It's beautiful. Try Dragon Quest VIII for PS2 if you haven't yet.

I bought a PS3 on Tuesday solely because I wanted to play this game so much. Needless to say, I love it.

If you want another beautiful RPG, I'd recommend Valkyria Chronicles for PS3. The painted mosaic art style looks fantastic.
