the worst QSing is on MW2 though. I played it a bit a few days ago and was getting QS'd basically from across the map. I was so pissed.
I don't find QSing in MW3 to be bad at all in my experience.

Call of Duty has gotten stale to everyone that isn't a die hard fan of the series. People have been complaining that each release is identical to the last since MW2's time was up. They needed to revamp the series, branch out a little bit, especially after the MW3 fiasco where it was such a bad game that felt like a MW2 DLC, which really turned off a lot of people to the COD franchise.
The move is risky, but if they do it well, it could prove genius. If not, it could be the end of COD as the top tier of the FPS genre.

They tried to offset the crosshairs when you ADS with a sniper,which counteracts QS'ing; whereas MW2 and MW3 allow for Aim Assist to be used with snipers, which caters to it.
People who made QS'ing their bread and butter in MW2 found snipers to be almost useless by comparison in Black Ops. It's still there, obviously, and it will always be there no matter what countermeasures they put in place, but it can be made significantly less annoying when it isn't catered to.

If Black Ops 2 bombs, I know most people I play with probably won't buy another title. Especially since Infinity Ward left the business.
But COD will always have it's staple of die hard fans that buy every title, so you may be right.

If it's just a reskinning, people will complain about it just like they did with MW3 looking exactly like MW2 and having many of the same guns. But this looks like a completely new theme, so I'd say it's more than just a reskinning.
And if it plays like an improved Black Ops, I think it'll be a hit.

I don't know how else they could have changed the series. They were predominately WWI-II shooters, then they went modern, then retro then back to modern. Other than completely ruining it by making it Call of Halo, this is what's left. People bitch just to bitch.
Treyarc is the one constant that people agree is solid. I expect nothing less.
One thing for sure if this bombs I'm done with cod.
