All about zone hitting. Keep that reticle high in the zone and drop the analog stick down a needed. Much easier to play that way than having to try to react to high fastballs.

After not playing a baseball game in close to 10 years, the learning curve is very high right now

Game is lots of fun though.

If I were you I’d turn on dynamic difficulty, start a franchise and just log lots of innings.

Play around with your camera angle. I prefer the zoom camera for both hitting and pitching. If you’re pitching with the camera angle that’s behind the pitcher, stop that mess immediately.

Yea i've just been playing exhibition games over and over again, and custom practice to try and get decent with the zone hitting. I'm god awful at reading what a pitch is and where it is going. That will come with practice.

Man I feel this. I’ve been doing DD and I lose so many games where I groove a meatball over the plate and my opponent jumps on it. I’m always late when I catch it. Been the difference in my games.

I wasn’t going to play a game last night before turning in cuz it would piss me off but I did it anyway.

I’m pitching a no hitter through 5 innings. Gerrit Cole comes up to bat. On a 1-2 count I throw a fastball inside that he slugs opposite field over the Green Monster at Fenway Park. That was my sign to turn it off and watch TV instead.

Is there any benefit to using the more precision throwing motions for defense?

I played with the default settings online and got smoked due to throwing errors and base running errors

Button accuracy is always the way to go. You should never make a throwing error using button accuracy.

This is me. MVP 05 was the last baseball game I really played. Hitting in the game is impossible for me. I've been no hit in 2 straight games. I play on the hardest difficulty, but this shite is ridiculous. lol

I like the strike zone view. I just cannot see where the ball is going when I use zoom view.

ETA: I said it in the other thread, but y'all don't miss out on your free Roberto Clemente card in DD. They'll be leaving after 4/26.

I still don’t understand DD at all. I’ve just been playing franchise to pass the time at work

I can’t do zone hitting to save my life. By the time I’m able to figure out about where I need the pci to be, swing timing will be way too late. Been able to use directional hitting with some success. I know zone is technically better, but I’m just dreadful with it. Will keep slogging away, but damn I can’t get the hang of it.

I’m playing on the second lowest

I’m able to win but it’s not pretty.

I really enjoy playing the moments where you take over a player for a big moment in their career. Like Babe Ruth calling his shot. Seems they add other new ones every week. I think I'm going to really be into this DD thing.

Gerrit Cole

Right handed hitter I would imagine.

So he pulled it?

First time playing a baseball game in probably a decade.

Did y'all use directional hitting or zone hitting?

I'm gonna need to know what kind of settings people tend to use

I also use pinpoint pitching but it’s really unforgiving with breaking balls.
