While using pinpoint pitching anyone else struggle to throw the pitches where you have to make a semi or full circle? Idk if the game isn’t registering my analog stick correctly or what. I actually do pretty decent on most. Sliders kill me though. It’s always like 35% accurate when I just threw sweeping curve the pitch before and got 85%.

Going to make Old Alex Box in stadium creator

They really screwed me up this year. Last year I made college baseball rosters for each MLB team. It would have been super sweet this year with the ability to create stadiums. I racked up a couple hundred bucks because people were wanting team A replaced with team B, so I charged per extra team I had to make.

I started doing the work on this year's months ago, and not long after they announced that you wouldn't be able to save from the old game to the new. So I just trashed the idea. I'm sure someone will scoop up my rosters and fix this for the current season.

Will be getting tommorrow on gamepass. I bought a used PS4 just to play this game a few years ago. Really enjoy it . The AI is weird though i was a relief pitcher in my first season . Spent my time in the minors moving my way up. I have a 1.35 era get promoted to AAA by end of season and do really well. My reward demoted to AA at start of next season My plan is to be a DH . No fielding, no pitching just gonna be a hitter. I hope that is an option if not 1st base it is.

Yeah I will, though apparently there’s no search option in the stadium vault

frick

Just post on every single board as soon as you finish it, so I'll know when to go on the show and look for most recent stadiums created

Just forced a quasi God Squad to quit. I’ve changed up my zone batting strategy and it’s paying dividends now. I’m taking more chances with my pitching too and it’s less predictable. This stuff might be simple to you veterans but I’m very green at this.

My record went from 5-10 to 17-26 while I slept and did things today. idk what happened.

Who else is buying a hard copy today?

I'm pumped for this release since it's the first time on Xbox.

I downloaded in on Game Pass yesterday. Looking forward to checking it out, but I usually get pretty bored with sports games pretty quick.

I’ve been playing on game pass. I’ve never been into stuff like diamond dynasty and tried to get into it today. Holy hell what a mess. Even with the tutorial I have no clue what’s going on

My plate discipline is pretty decent until I’m given a Curve ball into the dirt. 10/10 swing every time.

Im sitting at .500 batting avg after 25 games in AA at veteran level. It the splitter that is giving me trouble.
My only complaint is my power level is so weak . Im at level 30

I have 0 discipline at the plate and it’s quite frustrating lol. Can someone at least explain when to you the different types of hitting buttons? (Power, contact, normal) Not from a situational standpoint but more so from a strategy POV for this game? Like should I always power hit or what?

I’ve been basing my swing type used with the batters best attributes

I'm on xbox . i mostly just use A button to make contact. I didnt even know about the power button until today
I'm thru 25 games and have 5 hr's batting in the 9th spot. My power level is only 30 so i guess that is good for an 18 year old kid. Played HR derby yesterday with A. bergman from astros and i would just touch a pitch and out the park it went. Played this morning and had my first 2 hr game. This game is so fun. Finally a baseball game for xbox

I think it was Right trigger on xbox (pre pitch) pulls up an attribute box in addition to the last pitches thrown info

I use
a combination of the situation, the batter's attributes and the count to determine when I power swing.

Ahead 3-1, I'm power swinging with a middle of the lineup guy. Down 1-2, I'm contact swinging and protecting.

Power swing will reduce your contact window. Depending on your hitting settings & difficulty level, swinging too early/late with a power swing will often result in soft fly ball out or missing completely. And it is a lot harder to check swing a power stroke and you'll swing & miss completely more often than fouling something off, so you'll rack up Ks if you don't have strike discipline yet. But if you time a power swing perfectly, you can do a lot of damage obviously. So power swing is your most risk/reward scenario.

Contact swing will increase your contact window while reducing power - think of it as choking up on 2 strikes and protecting the plate. Or if you want to do a hit & run, contact swings may be preferred since you'll likely put the ball in play as long as you are swinging at strikes.

Normal swing obviously balances everything out from a power & contact perspective. You can hit HRs on a regular basis by just using contact swing once your power attribute gets higher. So you don't necessarily have to rely on power swings once you level up in order to be a 30+ HR hitter every year.

Difficulty levels & sliders can adjust all of this too, so you can tweak things like user power & contact window in the settings.

Beginner difficulty levels will have the cpu throw a lot more strikes down the middle, so you might be able to get away with using a ton of power swings early on. Higher difficulty levels will have the cpu painting the corners and rarely throwing straight down the middle, so you'll likely want to lay off of the power swings until you're in a hitters count.

This helped a lot. I’ve never played a baseball game before despite watching a lot of baseball and understanding strategies. It’s like my brain knows what it wants to do but I don’t know the specific buttons to do that.

So I just switched to Zone hitting and the results are night and day. Went from scoring about 2 runs per game to 5 in just the first few instances. I'm getting better about not swinging at everything too. I put the cursor right in the middle of my hot zones for the first pitch and if they throw it there, I use power. Generally I wait for 2 strikes to use contact or normal swing depending on who is at bat.
