I know people who have bought a PS4 purely to play The Show. I don't understand how EA or 2K haven't come back with anything in the past 5 years. I remember 2K13 and 14 being the exact same game with the exception of the rosters which pissed everyone off, but that's no reason to halt the franchise. I find myself looking online every 6 months or so
to see if anyone is working on a new game, but the same results pop up and they make me sad.
And while I'm at it, let's get ESPN 2K back in the damn mix. Madden is hot garbage.

The Show is a tough act to follow. Also, apparently there just isn't that much of a demand for it, otherwise there'd be one.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I doubt that there is ‘no demand’ for a baseball game on Xbox

Absolutely ridiculous that they haven’t made one yet

Well that's the perception. 2K14 didn't hit projections because it was a repeat of 2K13 and everyone knew it. If The Show were to come out on XBone, we'd be competitive with PS4 in sales. In fact, I know of four people right now that would ditch their PS4 entirely for an XBone if we had a comparable MLB game. It seems that word just doesn't get to the people that matter in those companies.

I miss the old days when there were several different baseball games on the market. I always loved All Star Baseball from Acclaim. My favorite baseball series of all time was Hardball back on the Genesis. That one was really ahead of it's time with a logo and uniform creator.

It was all about World Series Baseball on Genesis.

I was kind of combining the two sentiments. If people want a baseball game they go to the Sony platform because the Show has always been a superior offering.

Until EA or someone else decides it is worth jumping into the market for the far smaller Xbox one player base (I own both consoles), then be ready for the arcade style games only. Simulation is hard and licensing probably isn't cheap either.

If you go through all of that and get railed in the reviews when inevitably being compared to The Show, then is it really worth it?

It gets to the point that The Show has had market domination for so long that it will be too hard for someone else to come through.

edit: the biggest obstacle may be the community support that is completely ingrained into The Show. The Operation Sports Full Minor Rosters are the perfect example.

How hard would it be for them to make The Show Xbox compatible?

Seems like a good opportunity for them

Sony will pay them not to.

Wouldn't be hard at all. But Sony has an exclusive license. I won't pretend to know the details but I highly doubt they want to give up the exclusive rights.

Those NCAA baseball games were so damn fun. Spent a ton of hours playing that back in 2006-2007

I have kept my original Xbox around just for 2 games: MVP Baseball 2005 and Mercenaries.

Sony has the license from MLB on lockdown...

Even if there were demand, it wouldn't happen!!!

Can I just have a moment of appreciation for the MLB baseball franchise? 989 Studio's MLB franchise was always my preferred baseball game during the PSX era. They fell off a bit in the PS2 days, but it is amazing how MLB has become not just one of the best baseball game franchises but one of the best sports game franchises period since last gen.

It's a model for less popular sports titles to follow (ie NBA Live, NFL Gameday, etc) that if you keep improving it is possible to conquer the big boys.

I do miss MVP baseball though. MVP had an accessibility factor that is missing from The Show.
