Exactly.

I don't know that. But I do know that these consoles will push the future. Which one wins is what is going to determine what used game market is moving forward.

I was kidding. It isn't the same. One will not win over the other like Blue Ray did.

Completely agree, and that's why I think MS's big middle finger to the status quo is off-putting to some.

Yes but I'm all for it. Thats what it takes to advance sometimes.

The internet thing doesn't bother me. But I play games offline a lot. I couldn't use the Xbox One. However, I like their approach on many of their platforms.

Some people just are not informed about the future and I agree Microsoft is doing poorly to justify their case while Sony is milking it.

But they can push the publishers to go one way or the other with used gaming and DRM. Sony is choosing, at the moment, to take a back-seat approach. MS is trying something new (I'm not totally clear if their "24 hour internet" thing is a DRM issue or not). But we can't pretend that the used marked isn't changing.

I will agree that digital and more DMR may be the future. It is not nearly as soon as you guys think here for consoles.

Is this HD DVD vs Blu Ray again?

You can't compare what is already an accepted form of media distribution to that. Neither Blue Ray nor HD DVD were widely accepted like digital media already is on many platforms.

You get your music digitally on an iPad or iPhone I bet. How hard was it to accept the DRM Apple has on you and move beyond the CD? You could no longer trade CDs with your friends or trade them in. What's different about this?

Apple revolutionized the digital music platform and today instead of buying whole CDs you can pick and choose your songs which has saved consumers tons of money and also pretty much helped a dying off recording industry.

Why do you think this digital revolution will be any different?

The only late adapters to this model is the movie and console gaming industry.

The movie industry still wants you to buy Blue Rays for some reason but they have been better about it the past 3 years or so. I haven't bought a physical movie in ages because they are about $5-$8 cheaper if I buy digital.

Point is all media is going digital and MS is just getting out in front of it on consoles and is going to kill off the physical and trade in model both of which keep prices artificially inflated for much longer than a games actual demand.

it isn't but I am saying that MS has had a history of doing some WTF things that don't pan out.

And Sony hasn't ?

The Betamax, BMG Rootkit, UMD, Minidisc, and Memory Stick say hi.

You will use your xbox to watch BluRay now that it can.

Why when I can rent or buy movies for cheaper in my underwear on the marketplace. No fighting with having to remember to bring a movie back Redbox, and no dealing with sending disc back to Netflix.

Digital new releases on Vudu, Xbox marketplace, etc are $5-$8 cheaper to buy usually.

I have a PS3 now and I own one Blue Ray I bought years ago but I have bought over 90 movies on the marketplace and have rented even more than that.

This. I might buy 1 or 2 Blu-Ray Disc per year now. If that.

I hope so I am already pretty lazy and a little overweight. If I could eat even more and not have to physically move around that would great.

Yea...Honestly I don't buy movies at all really. Why spend like $20 on a DVD or blu-ray when I will only watch the movie like once. I just wanna play GAMES.!

Im with you on this, this is an honest question:
