If you bring home a new game and your internet is out (or if you're in an area without broadband connectivity), you won't be able to play the game
Wow... frick this big brother type bullshite.

I want a link where it specifically says what you said which is that if you bring home a new game you can't play it until you check in online.

Nah but outright hypocrisy is.

Can't stand hypocrisy...runs rampant here.

I'm not the one saying people blindly follow Microsoft then would turn around and let Sony shite on my chest and thank them for it.
ETA: It's cool with me if you're into that sort of thing but don't be a hypocrite about it.

You and Klark are the exact same way towards playstation.
You aren't even getting a console. Why are you even here? Couldn't stand the idea of a multi page thread not having your mark on it?
You are the SFP of the gaming board.
You are very educated on most things gaming. But to say you aren't a Microsoft homer would be a lie.

The information required to reach such a conclusion is posted in the OP. Microsoft has been nebulous throughout this entire process, so to expect them to be explicit with respect to something this specific is a bit unrealistic.
We know,
- The One requires check ins every 24 hours to validate your game licenses.
- The One installs games on your hard drive, and ties your game licenses to your XBL account so they are stored in the cloud.
- Microsoft explicitly stated that "loaning" games won't be available at launch.
- Giving games to friends is done digitally.
Allowing users to install and play games without validating the game license would undermine the entire licensing infrastructure that has been established for the One. Users would be able to install a game, play it, beat it, and give the physical disc to a friend. The game could be circulated endlessly without proper validation from Microsoft. Or, the game could be installed, played offline, and never traded, meaning a sold game never registered with Microsoft's servers.
The Xbox One is unique in that it is the first digital only system. The inveterate concept of "used games" will be completely eroded with the upcoming generation of consoles. The PS4 won't deviate greatly from the path the One is taking.
This isn't a philosophy that Microsoft randomly decided to force on the industry, it's a system that the publishers are pushing on both Microsoft and Sony. There's a reason Nintendo's 3rd party support for the Wii U is horrid, and I'm not so sure it's because the console has been selling poorly.

It's not a hard concept to understand.

I can't speak for KK but I will say I have never denied...

this. I am not being a hypocrite about it at all and some of you also need a Yin to the Yang because of the BS spewed here. It's so funny how wrong so many of you were about your "facts" looking back at the One reveal. It will only get worse after next week I imagine.

Wow Microsoft your really fricked up with the 24 hour shite. I still wouldn't mind it because my Xbox doesn't leave my house. I will probably buy the ps4 first and get the Xbox when the price drops. But I won't game on the Xbox because there won't be anyone to play against

Posted on 6/6/13 at 8:49 pm to Cs
So it's your conclusion then and not something MS has put out yet?
Like I just told Eric, it's amazing how many of yours, and many others, "facts" and "conclusions" were wrong now looking back at the shite spewed during the One reveal so forgive me if I will wait on something official instead of some more of Cs jumping to conclusions and introducing them as fact.

I've actually said on multiple occasions I plan on getting both. I won't be a launch day buyer but I will have one 3-5 months after the launch.

Why would you buy something you hate so much?
