With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies.

Other notable clarifications -

quote:

Trade-in and resell your disc-based games: Today, some gamers choose to sell their old disc-based games back for cash and credit. We designed Xbox One so game publishers can enable you to trade in your games at participating retailers. Microsoft does not charge a platform fee to retailers, publishers, or consumers for enabling transfer of these games.

quote:

Give your games to friends: Xbox One is designed so game publishers can enable you to give your disc-based games to your friends. There are no fees charged as part of these transfers. There are two requirements: you can only give them to people who have been on your friends list for at least 30 days and each game can only be given once.

They should have had this page up on the day of the reveal. Would have removed a lot of discussion and bad PR.

Before anyone complains about the private/used games sales I challenge you to listen to this video.

Oh it's long and covers some very interesting points that many of us haven't thought about.

Wow, that is not nearly long enough. I think Steam gives you 30 days, which actually seems a little too generous, though I'm not complaining.

I feel like 2 weeks would be fair, but 24 hours??

How does this work if you leave for a couple days? Im guessing you just have to let it connect right away when you get back?

Not that this matters much to me anyway because I'm hard wired in. But have they said what the point of that is? Is it so they can authenticate all your stuff?

Here's another interesting detail from the Xbox news that popped up this evening. Microsoft says that 10 of your "family" members can access your shared games library. Not just on your console. On any Xbox One.

Here's Microsoft:

Xbox One will enable new forms of access for families. Up to ten members of your family can log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One. Just like today, a family member can play your copy of Forza Motorsport at a friend’s house. Only now, they will see not just Forza, but all of your shared games. You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time.
There's still some confusion here. Can Microsoft really distinguish between who is a cousin and who is just your old college roommate? Who knows. I imagine you could identify 10 "people" as your "family" members and get away with it. Kind of like how HBO Go and other premium streaming services work.

The other detail to note is the mention of a shared library. Presumably, you'd have a specific folder with specific games that people with access can play. Does that mean Microsoft can limit how many games you can physically include in that library? Probably. We don't know for sure just yet.

How is that a white knight? It's an article that pertains to the thread.

You have been pointing out every good thing and downplaying everything wrong for awhile now. It is not just one thing.

I downplay shite that doesn't bother me. Nothing in this thread affects me if I do get an Xbox which I do not plan to as of now but I was in no way downplaying as much as just sharing more info for the topic.

Go back to masturbating to a photo of Bill Gates so we can hate on this machine in peace.

Being able to share a library with 10 of my "friends" doesn't make up for having to be online once in a day?

It's funny I get hated on but there are posters on here that have Sony's dick so far up their respective asses that you see the tip of it when they open their mouths.

It's even funnier considering I am not buying either console.
