Let’s hit up the rumors for some good laughs

It’s the new year folks. People are desperate for their favorite franchises to be in the limelight.
So I’ll throw my favorites I’ve heard out there so far. Keep in mind it’s somewhat of a joke thread but having some light shed on a few types of games that need more exposure is kind of nice for what its worth.
- Cyberpunk delay mostly due to the fact the base Xbox 1 was having several bad technical errors in one of the final builds of the game.
- Ninja Gaiden 4 currently in development as a Nintendo Switch exclusive (big yikes...most likely timed though). If true, that would be on Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 levels of bad.
- A new Paper Mario and Metroid (not Prime or 3D) title are in development.
- This one’s a bit late(but I haven’t seen it a lot of places), but Elden Ring supposedly may be on its way this summer. If I remember correctly, DS3 and Bloodborne released in the same year? So Sekiro and Elden Ring releasing a year apart doesn’t surprise me.
- Crash is the next Smash DLC.
My simple analysis:
The PM and Metroid one along with Crash to be honest are actually the least believable to me of the bunch. I’m no tech genius so correct me if I’m wrong but I wonder if Microsoft’s dev kit has anything to do with their exclusivity this gen. It doesn’t surprise me they’re the console with the underwhelming performance that caused the delay due to lack of exclusives. Spitballing, but I feel there’s some truth at least somewhere in the ballpark.
Listen, for a time, I had just an Xbox and a PS2. If I found out that Ninja Gaiden Black was a GameCube exclusive I probably would’ve raged. Like deadass I could understand some people’s anger that had it and have it on their current consoles (I think you can buy 3 and stream the other 2?). Ninja Gaiden DOA universe exclusivity would be one of the worst exclusive snubs since Microsoft and Sony left Bayonetta to rot until 2014 when Nintendo picked up the franchise. I would say Banjo but Bayonetta is more profitable.
So all in all, I said simple but I gave a fricking columnist analysis on a bunch of bullshite hearsay Anything y’all pick up? I’m mostly a Nintendo guy as most of you may know but I tried to be as unbiased as possible in this thread. Keep in mind when I say “exclusive snubs” I mean games that could and honestly should be multiplat. It’s a shame capitalism prevents some good games from being played by select people just because of their bias towards a system/their success or lack thereof in a certain region.

This I can believe, having attempted to play more recent games on a base Xbox One.

My son stopped playing Sekiro because of it

The new Xbox is supposed to be more powerful than the PS5. Maybe Microsoft has something weird in their architecture that makes it difficult to program games though.

Even if we get a new PM, I doubt it'll ever be as good as the first two. Miyamoto fricked with that series one too many times.
I thought Nintendo confirmed MP4 was in development, unless you are referring to something else? And we need that MP Trilogy Remastered for the Switch asap.

A completely different Metroid. Similar to Samus returns but a new entry in the series and not a remake. A 2D side scrolling platformer.
I honestly think Paper Mario needs to be handed over to Next Level games or not produced by Kensuke Tanabe. The games started going downhill when he took over the franchise as the head of development. Miyamoto has nothing to do with it. That is unless he solely appointed Kensuke there, which I’m unsure of.

During the development of Sticker Star, there were beta images of a Chain Chomp partner with Mario and iirc some of the devs early on were trying to make a game more comparable to TTYD. Miyamoto stepped in and told them to make it something different, which turned into Sticker Star. Idk if he appointed Tanabe either, but I agree that he should not be involved in the next project (assuming he isn't already).

Really hope this is true, I remember hearing this rumor very early on. Like when they first announced the game there were people saying it would come out earlier than people might expect.
I'm not sure how the next gen systems release dates factor in as well. Releasing before they drop makes sense, but I dunno.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 The Black Order is pretty good.
And the best version of the previous Ninja Gaiden title launched on the Nintendo platform. If it’s anything like Bayonetta it will be great.

Consoles always ruining PC.. some way or another. Either through this or patch testing for current games. The reason most PC games can't get instant patches is because they have to go through Sony and Microsoft's certification process.

I mean, they could just have Eldin Ring in development for both current and next gen consoles. Wouldn’t be any different than the original release of Breath of the Wild, right?

This would be a tragedy of epic proportion. Team Ninja,
with NG and NGII both being known for pushing the limits of their consoles at launch, releases NG4 on ....the Switch Even an eventual port to the real consoles would be a poor consolation prize. I want a Ferrari, not a Honda Civic that’s been souped up in some 19y/o’s garage.
Also not really interested in another NG game with no Itagaki directing it. NG3 (both vanilla and Razor’s Edge versions) sucked arse. They clearly didn’t know what made NG/Black and NG2 special

This one pops up every few years but a KOTOR sequel/remake/reimagining might be happening
There are a couple articles out there saying it’s to help bring the old republic into canon. After the shite the job they’ve done telling a story through the movies alone and all the tie ins comics etc they have to rely on to flesh out their stories, I can see this happening.

Bayonetta 2 on Switch looks better than both of those games.

A Switch game looks better than an OG Xbox game and an Xbox 360 game? WOW, so crazy

So why would Ninja Gaiden 4 on Switch be such an abomination?
Posted on 1/24/20 at 1:17 pm to Tactical1
bc I'd rather them develop it for the most powerful consoles and port it to the gimped console. not the other way around.

So not a good reason.

I mean, how is that not?
Develop it and then scale back. It's easier than scaling up in this case.

Don't they know "upscaled" is a dirty word?
