I've been watching my girl play 2 a bit and finally got to play a little of 3 last night, it has came a long way. Still have to play a lot more to judge it but so far so good.

the infamous laughing scene though.
I will never understand why people can't understand that the laugh was supposed to sound bad. They were fake laughing.

I'm just talking about the cringe factor in general on that scene, it's def meant to be fake but even for that it's pure cringe

some respect on Utada Hikaru's name.
Utada is legend, but a collaboration with Skrillex was surprisingly good

Just fired it up for the first time. Good God......the nostalgia......

The nostalgia is strong in this one.
I just saw Riku and King Mickey tonight in the dark world for the first time, not saying I teared up...
The sad part about the emotional attachment I have to this series... It so far is really feeling like an the of an era, a swan song on many levels.

Robin Williams never voiced Genie in Kingdom Hearts. It was all Homer Simpson.

One thing I already hate is how many paths there are
I just have to go down every one of them. This is gonna take forever hahaha.

I’m about to just start skipping every cutscene. This is unbearable.

I just finished Olympus and I’m with Riku and Mickey now. The cutscenes are definitely getting a bit ridiculous....lol. And I usually like cutscenes.
Hopefully they slow down a bit.

I was at that exact point when I made that post. Went from the dark world to that magician hut to the ship, like wtfff make it stop. I’m fine with cutscenes if they’re substantive, but these are just dumb Japanese bullshite “we’re heroes / we’ll win if we stick together” type shite over and over

Agree with everything said here about the cutscenes. Way too many of them.
Also, does Mickey have a different voice actor than he did in previous games? He sounds really off.
However, the gameplay is still phenomenal. The battle mechanics have never felt smoother.

The voice actor for Mickey in KH1 & 2 passed away a few years back.
I forgot about this and the new sounding Mickey kinda triggered me

Ahh, makes sense.
I'm convinced there's multiple posters in this thread who could've done a better Mickey impression. When he speaks briefly, it's not too bad, but when he has those long conversations with Riku it grates on me.

Boat load of cutscenes but so far really good. Feels like the fighting system mashed all the games together with a few tweaks I liked. Graphics are incredible.

The cutscenes are out of control, but thankfully the gameplay makes up for them

Agreed....the worlds seem bigger with a few more path options and the "map" didn't really help me at all I think it took me about 30 minutes trying to get to where the boss fight is in Olympus...Also maybe its just because I wasn't familiar with the world yet but it was really easy to get turned around after a fight.....other than that game play is awesome and the cut scenes are too even though there have been way too many in the beginning so hopefully it dies down a bit.

More cutscene talk.....lol
Got through Toy Box. That place took forever 100% because of cutscenes. After each area you clear there’s like a five minute one. I finally got the balls to skip one and of course it was one that ended up with Xemnas throwing me into a mini-game so probably one of like three I actually needed to watch.
I also had to turn off a lot of the animations for combo/party activations. They were awesome the first 10-20 times, but that time adds up when you’re fighting and using them non-stop.
I haven’t died yet, but got real close against the Tornado Titan
Cure is weird for sure, takes your entire magic bar if you use it so be sure to throw off a couple of offensive magic attacks before curing yourself.
In regards to items I already managed to synthesize two ability+ rings. Grants +1 in power and +14 AP lmao.
Game is wonderfully smooth and i’m having a blast playing it.

The best thing Nomura/Square did was change from the Luminous engine to Unreal 4. It shows, greatly
I know for sure that's why the game is as smooth as it is. Also gives me hope for FF7R

That bastard is my only death yet.
Why was he just watching like a creep while fire and ice got their asses whipped?
