First game was one of my proudest game wins of all time. Would be absolutely ecstatic for a sequel

The way the game deals with time and quests, is why I have never played it much. . .but always mean to.
Game requires alot of focus and time management, unlike any RPG I have ever played
To explain a bit. . .when the guy tells you to meet him somewhere at sundown, and you don't get there in time, the event plays out without you. You have no opportunity to redo it or anything. Almost all the quests are like that. It isn't like Witcher or any of the others, where you can let quests sit while you do other stuff.
I am not saying this is a negative, it is a feature. I want to beat it, but need to be able to focus on just that game.

I like this.
What I didn't like was not being able to save anywhere (yes, mods fix this) and constantly having to eat food/sleep. The food even literally expires in your inventory if you buy it but don't eat it fast enough.

this, I like. sounds very interesting

this, I hate. can't stand games where you have to eat food and get sleep and all that bullshite. I play games to do the things I can't do in real life, not trying to play Life Simulator

I think you also have to bathe and keep your clothes clean.

It’s an option.
Why I am so proud of beating this game is I played on survival mode. So no gps. No way points. You just had a vague map of the region and roads annd have to navigate old school style. And the map was huge.
And in that, you have to choose two defects. And my defect was sleep walking. So when youd go to sleep, you’d wake up in a random portion of the map. No clue where you were. And yes, it was often frustrating (I got lost sometimes in the large forests for hours) but also got to be super rewarding.
Also, the bathhouses were whorehouses too in the game so that was fun.
“Do you want to-
Take a bath - 30 cents
Have your clothes cleaned - 15 cents
Sleep with this bathhouse wench - $1”

I don't think you had to bath, except for a handful of quests. It does help your charisma though for certain interactions. It's been a bit since I beat the game though so my memory is fuzzy on that part.
I just hope they change the lock picking mechanic, it was impossible to do on a console.

Has anyone played the first one on console? The Royal Edition is on sale for $3.99 on the PlayStation store but I'm curious how the game runs/feels on a console, especially since you don't have access to mods.

It ran fine for me on my XBONE. Never had any issues with lock ups or anything like that.

I played on console. Was fine. Combat is a bit difficult

Thanks all! For $4, seems like a no-brainer!

It’s fun. I’m about to start a new playthrough bc I’m pumped.
Lockpicking is a major count on console though.
