I’m waiting for the PS5 version to come out for my first playthrough and I’m super pumped. Couldnt play it last year because I had Xbox, made the switch to the 5 this year

Very good. I’m not a huge fan of the combat, but still a fantastic game.

The world is beautiful, the plot is deep, the characters are fantastic, etc. just an all around great game.

true but since the whole game was set in Midgar I expected more openness and things to do. Still enjoyed it tho

People are also complaining about padding and strecthing things too long.

I think they had a very good balance of linear story beats that opened up to new part of Midgar where you had several side quests and places to explore. They added a lot of character to the game and that were great. I loved the expanded bits that Jessie got in the remake.

There was way too much backtracking, game was about 30% longer than it needed to be. I was spellbound at the beginning and completely ready it for it to be over at the end.

I do agree. Most of my problems with the game are level design. While it wasn’t impactful to my enjoyment of the game..I can totally see where people would have a problem with it.

I think a lot of it was trying to turn an hour or so segment of the original game into a 40 hour RPG. Maybe it had something to do with taking back over production from the original company that was working on it. But yeah, climbing the tower was fun.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've beaten it multiple times, and it's one of a handful of games I have gotten all trophies.. I love the whole ff7 world so it's super exciting for me. I will undoubtedly play it again with the ps5 upgrade.

It does have its flaws. Carson lists them, though they don't bother me much.

Yeah I liked it a lot, thats the phrase I meant to use was linear. I guess what I'm saying was for a FF game it was more linear than some might expect, but like you said I think it worked well

FFVI would be pretty awesome too.

Agreed: Bartz deserves to see Sarissa’s tits in 3D!

That's V, not VI.

That’s right; I felt like VI had too many characters but man was it peak 2D beauty

What set IV and V apart for me were the narratives and character development, which you can easily miss in the second half of VI
