I just got the PX22's for Christmas and love them. My 2nd pair of Turtle Beach's. The first were the P11's and they were decent too. I like these much better though. Much more comfortable and it blocks out a lot of outside noise. When they're on and I'm playing I can't hear sh**, more importantly my girl can't fn bother me!

This was the biggest issue for the X-12's I read about when researching headsets. I found it to be true for about the first week and now, I have absolutely zero issue with the pressure on my head (as there is none anymore), and my ears never hurt from them either.
For $50 I am extremely pleased with their durability, the way they fit and their design.
I'm not a stickler for insane quality when it comes to sound, but for the price, these headphones work perfectly for what I need them to do.

i agree with Bruce.
I have the Tritton AX Pro and they are amazing...
I just wish i had wireless as the wires get in the way alot.

Looks like Tritton is starting to lag behind with the new gen of headsets out. The TurtleBeach Seven series is getting good reviews. I'm impressed with the Astro A40 review, though. I may get those since they seem to have similar sound quality to the X12's but are more comfortable. I REALLY wish I could try things like headsets out before I buy them. I only got to test what BestBuy had up for demos. Wasn't impressed with anything.

I'm late to this thread but have you used any other headsets?
Turtlebeach headsets are some of the WORST headsets on the market. In 2012 I've owned 5 pairs of turtlebeachs and they all broke. Complete junk.
If you MUST use a headset pleas settle on Steelseries. Even Razer makes better headsets.
That list is complete junk and doesn't even include the Siberia line.
When I say I have tried almost every highend gaming headset, I really have tried them all since 2011.
This doesn't mean you have to go all out like my current set up because some good gaming headsets are out there. What i'm trying to say is that out there are higher quality sets out there at a lower price point than Turtlebeach.

Had mine for about a year. Have had zero sound or structural issues with them.
For $50 and the convenience of running down to my local walmart to get them, I can't complain.

ETA: Also comfort was a huge point of emphasis. If I didn't care about comfort, I wouldn't even be getting a new headset.

Pretty good guide. I may just buy the mix amp and then a headset.
