The PC releases for this year have been disappointing to me, I struggle to find something to play, and only the HZD expansion has me interested the rest of the year.

If I hadn't already played them multiple times I would still enjoy old games like ME 1-3, Metro, Dragon Age, and Pillars. Either games have changed or I have.

I still play a month or so a year, but it's not the same without the community and newness.

I used to play EvE with a guy that was 78 years old when he started, 83 when I met him. He played some other games too.

He made a shitload of money in Microsoft's early years (like one of the 1st 100 MS employees who got paid in stock as well as salary). He did whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted, for the last 25 or more years. Gaming was usually his choice for recreation.

same here, i fire something up and get bored after 10minutes. Then try something else, get bored.

Nothing looks good, no new games make me want to buy.

I used to piss away hours on ESO, but i'm so bored of it, that i fire it up, do a quest, then quit of boredom. Even modded fallout4 and modded skyrim just cant keep me going.

Think i've hit the point where i'm kind of over games. I still play Football Manager every year, but even then, it's a time waster while i'm online and it's in the background.

This is both the saddest thing and the best thing to hear about...

It has been a very weak year for PC. I've been mostly console and hell, I've played Resident Evil 7 four times, Uncharted 4 a few times, Last of Us a few times.

Played Andromeda for about 80 hours but didn't love it. Played Banished a good bit but it crashed a TON.

Finally played Stardew Valley and did enjoy that one a good bit until it felt pointless to continue. It needed a little more of a story and goals to go along with the farming / exploration.

I've still got to get back to Bloodborne but I just don't feel like banging my head against the wall over and over again.

I was thinking of finally playing MGS Phantom Pain. I've got it but haven't played past the first mission.

Phantom Pain is garbage just go ahead and skip it. And how did you put 80 hours into Andromeda? After about 5 I knew it sucked

From everything I've heard on it, it's a phenomenal game that crashes at the end, which is probably due to the turmoil between Kojima and Konami.

Haven't seen a single negative review until yours so not sure I can take your word for it.

Not saying their aren't negative reviews but all the folks I check for reviews loved it.

DCUO finally bored me so much that after being a Daybreak\SOE\Verant\989 customer since beta testing EQ (including the All Access Pass since they first offered it) I closed my account and bid them farewell back in May and haven't looked back.

I poked around a few games but ESO is what caught my attention the most and still has it.

I think the key with MMO's they focus too much on new gear and harder content to keep people playing and not nearly enough focus on character expansion (Advanced Abilities, Attributes, Skill Points, Pet Advancement, etc). Currently ESO offers me plenty of that (enough that I started a subscription there).

This was my thought as well. First one was outstanding, can't imagine he wouldn't like these games if he likes Pillars.

Reviewed well but wasn't well received by fans, game wasn't finished and went to the bargain bin quickly. Tons of mediocre games review well.

Not sure, I couldn't get past about an hour of the game in 1 before I quit, a guy at work says it's fantastic after you get through that part though.

I would suggest giving it a second try. The first time I played it I sort of got lost, and screwed up some quests.. put it down, and then came back to it later and fell in love with it so much that I did two full playthroughs. If the quirky humor is too much for you, then you may enjoy DOS2 a little more as it is more grounded, and maybe a bit more mature than the first one.

Still true.

The console exclusives are awesome this year. Switch carried me in the first half of the year. Summer I finally played Horizon. PC is still where to game, esp with PUBG.

What I miss the most about PC gaming are MMOs. Damn MOBAs sort of killed the MMO era and IDK if it ever comes back around.
