Was really hoping Harry Wanka would slip through the cracks.

I like everything about this game but the targeting kinda sucks in battles with 3-4 enemies. Any tips on that?

Today I learned that if you have the high ground, you can accio a dark wizard up from below and then just release the spell and they die when they hit the ground. I jumped down from where I did it and didn't take fall damage so it didn't take much elevation to do it.

The game has a host of flaws that I hope get ironed out, but even with that said, this is the most fun I’ve had playing a game in a while. I have a feeling I’m going to be playing this for a long time.

What seems to be the main issue you’re having or things that causes the most problems when you’re fighting multiple enemies?

Holy shite I just realized the best side quest in the game, if not best overall quest including main ones, involving a you buyin a shop in disrepair to selll your junk from an old widowed witch on the outskirts of hogsmead and she’s asks you to bring you her husbands thing left in a trunk in the store where you end up in a dungeon orchestrated by her poltergeist husband after attempting to grab them and when you escaped attempt to arrest her when she stupifys the officer and you have one of the very first proper 3 health bar duels witch on wizard (that’s not wand club or something. I had no idea the second fight would be there so I had no potions but did have crucio and imperio at the time and died about 15 times on hard she would adavra you in second phase I just threw out on if the unforgivable chugged a potion that super boost spell damage threw her into levitate or some stun lock and unloaded config bombardment and she he one that slashed in the red school hitting for over 3000 at one point.
This quest is so insanely memorable because you’re just there to buy shop it’s pretty late on in the game and just assume it’s an excuse to peddle your junk. There should be change.org and riots over this only being on one platform in ps5

You have to learn to crowd control like any other game but those games are typically melee where everything is relatively even easily kept in front of you.
Idk how far you are but you can turn up to 5-6 spells into spells that curse the target and they’re all great ones Expeliarmus Flipendo and the one that halts their movement can’t remember the name plus the 3 unforgivables 2 of witch are rather late on in the main story I’d say but you have Crucio in time for the 2nd keeper trial and it’s a good thing too because that’s the only fight in the game balances multiples is complete bullshite on the mechanics of the game with the mirror mechanic.
By time you have access to advra if you’re cheeky enough to grab the final dark arts perk you just curse everyone around you and pick any pour soul not howling in pain or killing his friends and use it on him and they will all drop dead

Just realizing I gave you absolutely nothing until you at least unlock talent trees.
Aquio and levitate are your go to spells early especially levitate with a rapid cool down. Eventually you can pull off some sick arse combos involved levitate Aquio descendo and Flipendo basically all the blue spells to consistently juggle dudes.
Do not sleep on regular attacks they are not just something you use to fill space when cool downs are coming off. They keep the combo meter going upping your magic bar, hit for more damage to enemies inflicted by any status element with curse being the highest and fire being the lowest and dealing on talents chosen regular hits on enemies airborne or using stupify via protega will skyrocket your magic bar.
Last bit of advice is something most likely don’t do here as you would in most any other game because you can typically find a way to brute force most things in the game. But, check out the enemy bios almost all of them have some sort of obscure method of obliterating them if you can pull it off.
Also one last also make sure this moment you have camera focused targeting set to off in settings. With this on whenever you do anything without a lock on the camera judges what is in screen and throws iit in that general area. This can be a particular cluster frick and guaranteed death in multiple enemy encounters when you are still few in spells and potion mats. Make sure it’s on the setting that when you attack regularly or using a spell without locked on it is guide by yourself still using the right analog

Downloaded the game last night and played up until I got sorted into Slytherin. About to pick it back up after putting the baby to sleep

This game needs an appearance system more than possibly any game I've ever played

Posted on 2/11/23 at 6:13 pm to BulldogXero
If you are talking about like a transmog system there is already one in the game
Posted on 2/11/23 at 6:18 pm to BulldogXero
Equip your best pieces, then you can press square to change their appearance to anything you have already gathered, that you may like better.

This tripped me up too, it's not well explained or intuitive.
Select what gear you want to wear, and when you return to the screen that shows you all of the gear slotted on your person, hover over each piece and there should be an option to change appearance. You can select from the appearance of any gear you've unlocked or possessed so far.

Took me a bit to figure it out. I was running around with pieces with good attributes but looked like an idiot. Definitely a game changer in that regard.
Posted on 2/11/23 at 6:32 pm to BulldogXero
Just highlight the appropriate gear slot and look at the piece of gear it should have a shortcut for what button to change appearance.
Posted on 2/11/23 at 6:47 pm to Greace
I dont remember seeing it on launch but now i csn make all my gear invisible and run around in my long johns. The NPCs say " dressed to impress i see"

Finished the main plot. Pretty solid.
