The sprinting is too COD-esque now. The pistol is comical. The maps are largely horrendous. There's no casual playlists. There's not even a dedicated objectives playlist, seriously? The radar at times flat out doesn't work. It doesn't feel like Halo to me anymore either, more like a beta.

The engine and graphics are amazing and there was a lot of potential here, I just don't think many non-hardcore fans will care to stick around for the multiplayer to get enjoyable (or Forge, shame on 343). I was initially blown away by multiplayer, but it's wearing pretty quickly and I'm not alone there. Those sentiments can't be captured by launch-day reviews.

The more hardcore Halo fans of my friends group love the game way more than the people who have only really played the past games casually.

Meh.. I hated it at first, but warmed up to it once I started playing on some of the larger maps. Plus it can really help or really hurt you. The shoulder charge attack is a welcomed addition, while your shields not recharging while you sprint is a thing of beauty. Both done very well.

You clearly haven't played the original Halo. The H5 pistol is a thing of beauty

The maps are largely horrendous

These maps are the most balanced that I have ever seen in almost any Halo. I have zero complaints other than I don't know the call outs well enough.

This sucks I agree. That and no split screen means that I can't enjoy the game with my son, nor can he play any games of Halo because everything is ranked.

quote:

Team Arena is largely an objective playlist. Yes, it has slayer in it, but it has all of the other objective playlists as well. if you want to play objectives, get a party together and get your party to all vote for objective game modes.

Wrong, the radar works great. It promotes working as a team, and not just lone wolfing it every where. The range is shorter because it wants you to travel as a team. When you sprint, you are seen from a further distance than you would be if you were walking. Of course, if you are crouch walking you won't appear on radar. Just some things to think about.

The Beta has NOTHING on the actual release.

Did they remove ADS, flying, being told when weapons are respawing, and Spartan stomping?

Cuz those were my biggest beefs.

Add to the movement and ground pounding a player in an intense ranked slater is harder and more rewarding than any 360 no scope in COD.

Ground pounding is fricking retarded, but I won't compare it to anything in COD, because I've never played COD. I like Halo.

Literally the only complaints I have are: 1) I can't play as much as want too because of work 2) my internet at home sucks and I disconnect from games( I really need to call cox) 3) people who haven't played the game giving it shite and saying it doesn't feel like "halo" And most of all 4) I suck and am nowhere near my halo 3 form :(

What about the lack of button glitches and super bounces? I thought that's what made H2A suck so bad?

You've proven to be insanely disingenuous, and full of shite with your hyping of this game.

Critics and players have it as the lowest rated Halo game ever.

This isn't Halo. Should have used H2A as a starting point.

Obviously you don't like the direction this series is headed in.

Find a new game.

Your constant complaining is intolerable

You are being super misleading though. Your bitching is about the multiplayer and you keep trying to act like the reviews back you up on that when it is completely false. The lower ratings in 99.9% of the reviews was due to reviewers not liking the campaign. The only one I can remember who didn't like the multiplayer was I think game informer, the rest loved it. I've seen many reviewers who have said it is their favorite multiplayer or the series or the best since 2 or 3.

A lot of people in here are living in the past. "It doesn't play like Halo.." bullshite. Every single Halo has had newer abilities and things you could do as a Spartan. Halo 2 was duel-wielding. Halo 3 gave us equipment, like bubble shields and power drain. Reach gave us armor abilities. 4 gave us a default sprint and more abilities. And 5 is just following the trend. It's not like 343 is the ones who started messing with all of that.

With all of the buttons on a controller and possibilities with better and faster consoles, why would they not add in newer possibilities into the gameplay? I've enjoyed the shite out of this game. I sucked at first, and the game seemed too fast for me to ever be good at it, but once you learn to use all of these new tools to your advantage (thrusting away from grenades, hovering to shoot opponents over a ledge, charging an opponent when you sneak up on them, etc etc etc) it really slows the game down. I've been absolutely killing it the past week or so.

I'm a player, and I think it's the best game so far. It feels like Halo. A refueled Halo that's more than just 3 shots with a pistol to the head.

Right. It's 4 now.

It's a good game, it's not great. I'd still rank 1,2, & 4 above it, but thats just me. The maps and lack of dedicated objective game types are what are really holding it back right now, but that should get somewhat fixed in December (hopefully). However, so far the maps have been fairly unimaginative outside of the Warzone maps, which are still pretty stale. They are fun and look great, but not a whole lot of variety. Again, holding off final word until the update in December.

That was just my closing argument

I get your joking, but in Halo CE, the skill level involved was literally "who can connect 3 headshots first?" The assault rifle was completely useless. There's a lot more to the game now. And yes, I wish they had more playlists and more maps, but that's coming. So far, I think this is a much better version of 4.

Doesn't compare with flying, ground smashing, or completely changing how it looks when you zoom in

Items on the maps that could give you a strategic advantage when used properly. Sounds like Halo.

Everyone hated this shite.

The trends put forth by Reach and H4..... Inarguably the worst two games of the series.

If Reach would have had a ranking system, it would've been my favorite game. So, actually, I'd say it is arguable.

For someone who hasn't even played the game yet, you sure are posting in here a lot...

This is such a retarded argument. So adding items to the map that you need to use wisely to gain an advantage is ok, but adding abilities to your arsenal that you have the entire game, that also need to be used wisely to gain an advantage, is "not Halo"?

Yes

Hence, why nobody liked the stupid armor abilities on Reach/H4
