I don’t think it’ll cost 100$. It’ll be priced at 70 and have various editions of like 100 and 140$ minimum.
The arguments shills and game companies always give to justify raising prices are always laughable. It’s almost always the “muh inflation” argument. As if all of these games aren’t mostly sold digitally now making their cut bigger and most games are stuffed to the brim with “micro transactions”
The last thing they need to to do is raise the price and increase that barrier of entry in an era where we aren’t exactly getting bangers monthly. Another argument they often use is games cost so much now. Whose fricking fault is that? Did I force you to hire way too many useless DEInhires? Did I go 100s of millions over budget on a project.
A game like GTA 6 could likely get away with it and it could very well be worth it but almost no one else is swimming in those waters. I really like what Claire Obscure has done pricing the game at 49,99 should be a good case study.

They make so much money in shark cards that they’ll keep the base edition of the game at $70. GTA 5 is a cash cow a decade plus later because of it. They’re not going to fix something that isn’t broken.

Maybe if they do this, gamers will stop pre-ordering so much AAA dogshit

There’s some more what you might call “serious” people coming out now claiming there’s a serious possibility they’ll raise the cost to 100$.
I still don’t believe it, while I do think GTA6 could get away with it because most gamers are morons and tbh most rockstar games like rdr2 or other games like Elden ring or p5 royal (which I have over like 1300 hours in) I would be fine with paying 100$ tbh, almost no other company will and I think it’s very likely a price increase with the quality of games we get now could tumble most of AAA into a doom loop.
As I have long said, games could stand a reduction in price not a raise, at least until they start producing quality on a consistent level. The studios would likely make more money too.
Let’s hope Clair Obscure at 44.99 (42.99 if you have ps plus you get a discount) sets a strong precedent

It won’t set a precedent at all

I think it has a strong potential to.
Consider the facts; the game was made in 3 years from conception idea, hiring, pre production, full production, release. This is quite frankly insane in today’s world. Their team is also lean and from what I’ve seen in interviews all competent passionate people. This is why they likely have the freedom to take this risk since they were so efficient in development
I haven’t played it obviously, but from all I’ve seen of the game shown off this appears to be a full blown AAA game with a length of 80 hours they say. It could end up being a very high end AA game like say Stellar Blade, but if it does deliver what it proffers the model of lean, efficient, low cost to get more sales could be a wonderful example to follow.
My only concern is if the genre has the market penetration to sell that many even if it’s only 50 or 42$ on PlayStation. What’s the biggest selling turn based game in the past ten years? I’d likely guess p5 which is very AA.
We will see

Ya'll are gonna be so disappointed.
Vice city and San andreas are arguably some of the best entertainment they released between major releases.

Any word on if they will allow cross-platform co-op? I know they haven't in the past, but a man can dream.

Any way you slice it the game will be expensive AF. RDR2’s ultimate edition was $100 seven years ago, and that was just for bonus single player content. I gave up on the game when they made it virtually impossible to earn gold in game. It felt like mobile game pricing.
If they come out of the gates with in game purchases similar to GTA5 you’ll either need to grind 100hr/mo or you’ll need to buy a monthly whale card to see any meaningful progression.

It's just like that poster in the NCAA thread that sky screamed for weeks to anyone that even hinted at being excited for that game that it was going to be a copy/paste of Madden and a huge disappointment/failure. Aaaand it ends up being the highest selling sports game of the year. Let shite play out.
I’m glad you said this

I was wondering if this was the same person
