Not releasing any gameplay before the pre-order date is a huge red flag
Why? There’s still a week until the order date btw.

With the way this game has been marketed, this has the writings of cyberpunk 2077 all over again
There’s no way you are comparing GTA to Cyberpunk right?

Then don't buy it until you see some gameplay... Not sure what the problem is.
I also don't know what the problem is, but apparently that other poster just couldn't accept that I won't be buying this game without seeing gameplay. You should be responding to him.

Rockstar is being just a tad pretentious themselves.
"heres the cover. you can preorder on 6/25."
Just release a new trailer. They are so high on themselves that they can just release a goddamn jpeg and sniff their own farts. I think that level of arrogance can be off putting for some people.
It's a huge red flag, especially since the people who made the previous GTA games aren't even in the company anymore.

My bad, I guess I took it too seriously.
No worries!

I tend to think it’ll be $70-80 for the base game. I can’t imagine them going above $80, but we’ll find out soon enough
I'm leaning towards standard edition being $80. Agree that they'd be insane to go above $80.
I'm still pissed the Digital Deluxe version of Nioh 3 was $110 (standard was $70)

We still got a week they can easily just release the trailer on the day of preorders

Asking people to buy the game before seeing gameplay is a huge red flag. Could you at least attempt to follow the thread?

They are just giving people the option. They don’t have to buy it on the 25th. There are people that are going to get it no matter what because they know it’s going to be fun.
Btw, GTA 5 opened preorders on November 5, 2012. At that point, one singular trailer had been released. Official gameplay wasn’t released until July 9, 2013.

You’ve got a point but let’s be real: 2013 Rockstar was a completely different company than it is today. The masterminds who created the stories for the early GTA games left a long time ago.

What does that have to do with the timing of preorders and trailers and gameplay?

Trying to put a price cap on one of the most anticipated games out there is a bit unrealistic. GTA V took roughly 39 hours to complete the main story and around 89 hours to reach 100 percent completion. Even at an $80 price point, that breaks down to about 4 cents per minute for the main story and close to 1 cent per minute if you go for full completion.
GTA VI is expected to be even larger in scope, which only strengthens the value.
At the end of the day, most people are going to pay whatever it costs, and it will still end up being one of the cheapest forms of entertainment available when measured by time spent.

Nobody buys Rockstar games because they are tame and normal.

Correct. This is a completely different company. The current people working at Rockstar cannot stand on the shoulders of the previous game releases. Saying you're going to buy this game just because of previous GTA releases doesn't make a lot of sense.
