And I still don't get how so many people keep acting like they are locking core game features
Do people seriously think the base game will not have any car/physical appearance modding available

It’s just gatekeeping assets to entice people to spend 20 bucks extra for FOMO.
It’s not a huge deal, but it’s modern game dev sketchiness to fleece people.
It’s the same company that created a terrible in game economy for their online version of gta v and raked in tons of money for $100 shark cards.
Unsurprising that they’d start doing scummy bullshite in the single player.

I get it, I really do. But it's freaking Grand Theft Auto. The biggest game franchise of all time that hasn't released a game in over a decade. If you can't spend the extra $20 for the Ultimate Edition for this franchise then I don't know what to tell you.
I'd bitch about it with a yearly release franchise like COD, but I don't give a shite with this one.
I will say nothing killed my enthusiasm of a mode more than the economy in GTA Online with how fricking expensive everything was and what seemed like a grind just to make a penny.

I don't disagree with this. I'm not spending anything for a version with no physical release and not preordering a game we've seen no gameplay for.
Makes no sense to "preorder" a completely digital game anyway.

It’s not new but it wasn’t well received the first time around.
If I have to pay extra just to make a donk with some big arse rims in their version of Florida I will be pretty salty.

I don't recall ever being completely locked out of a shop in a single player game released by Rockstar because I didn't buy a premium edition. Lock me out of purchasing certain items at said shop? Cool, no big deal. I can't even access a place on the map? Get outta here.

Fair I don’t remember it going that far either in single player but I’ve always felt it was a matter of time before Take Two started showing its presence in Rockstar games. Wouldn’t be the first franchise they’ve ruined with microtransactions.

Hard to say what the scope will be, but it does seem like some cosmetic features will be paywalled even in single player.
But that’s okay, because rockstar is the greatest company ever and we can excuse anything negative they may do because they made some good games for a while. They spent a lot of money making this and my fond memories of their prior work tell me I have to pay for it even if they are being openly hostile with their modern pricing and policies.

If you don’t want the add on feature, don’t pay the extra $20. It’s pretty simple.
Rockstar knows majority will pay it. If you don’t want to, you have that option.
