The only thing that they’ve put out so far that anyone could remotely link to a woke turn is a female protagonist.
Other than that it’s the fact that a couple of the lead writers for the gta games have left. It’s a little concerning but with what little we have to go on right now it’s not a huge deal.

And yes, the decision to cast a female as one of the protagonists is definitely one of the signs (not the only one, though).

Earlier this year it was found that the new-gen remasters of GTA 5 had cut transphobic content in the game, and new reports indicate that a Latina woman will be one of the lead playable characters in GTA 6, a major first for the series.

Also if we're getting technical you could play as a woman in the first GTA game granted it was just a bunch of pixels with no character development it was still a woman.

It is not a sole indicator, but it is certainly something to be taken into account when other indicators are present.

People aren't going to NOT play GTA VI just because it took a long time to release. Whenever it comes, there will be tremendous hype.

I don't know. It certainly will with people who were in high school and college when GTA 5 came out, but none of my teen's friends give a crap about GTA at all and the GTA Online numbers seem to suggest they aren't the outlier.
I'm sure GTA 6 will sell a ton of copies because people our age really want to play it, but will that be enough to keep the franchise going beyond that? I'm skeptical. That's what I mean by "delaying themselves into irrelevance."

Also just checked the trailer is at 12 million views in just around 2 hours of being released safe to say the hype is still very much there.

If it doesn't kill with the younger demographic, I'm not so sure. Like it or not, gaming is a young person activity. When you have a huge company driving by metrics, they care about gaming sales to young people.
