Going back to Starfield

I played this when it first came out. And I had my enjoyment at the time other than some firefights feeling insanely unfair. So I stopped playing after some hours.
Downloaded it a few days ago and I am enjoying this so much more. I feel like I did the wrong stuff the first time. I feel like a lot less, random stuff is happening.
The Terramorph mission on Tau Ceti alone is better than anything I played the first time I tried it

Do you meet a sassy spider-like rock alien in an attempt to save both your planets?

I haven’t fully explored the system so there’s a chance I just haven’t seen it yet.
The mission though is you have to sneak around a meat packing plant turning on defense systems and then get a giant monster to start chasing you down the roadways where you have gum emplacements. It felt like the end of Alien 3

You know Tau Ceti is a real place, right?

I’m fully aware of that
I have a habit of taking forever to read some books because I go down rabbit holes. Weir is great at making me do this with his in depth knowledge and illustration of science.
Twas just a joke. An apparent poor joke it seems

Nah, it was a fine joke. I got the intent. I thought you were jokingly wondering if there was an Easter egg. It was my response to that that confused me

Please report back if someone mods Rocky into that mission

If it's the one I am thinking of, it was broken for the longest time. You had to go into one of the buildings to talk to one of the faction leaders but all the buildings were locked and the leader (at least the one you needed to talk to) was inside the building.
I had to use a mod that allowed me to walk through walls to finish it.

The quality of life updates they've put out have been really good.
If you haven't already, buy the Watchtower creation. It's so good Bethesda should pay the modder to integrate it into the game. Full ship fleet mechanics and a whole new faction to fight.

Starfield gets a lot of unnecessary hate when it is essentially space Daggerfall.
I wish they would have gone the No Mans Sky route of adding more sand in the box with each update. The one criticism I have is how repetitive the randomly generated content is

I usually preface my responses in Starfield threads with "I know I'm in the minority in loving Starfield" because of this.

I like that there are a ton of planets because it allows modders to help grow the game (which was Bethesda's intention) but the randomly generated stuff is frustrating.
I don't mind if that's the route they went but if you're going to do that, you have to have so many different modules that can be interchangable so you don't see the exact same thing. The recent big update added more locations and you can tell, but they still need more.

That's easily my number 1 complaint. Back when Starfield released, I had a blast with it for 10-15 hours before it started to sink in how repetitive everything was.

Chicken, do we allow admissions of self-harm on the board?

This and the PG feel of a lot of places. The dancing teletubbies and stripmall setup of Neon was lame.
