Go woke, get broke - Gaming industry biting it hard, still refuses to learn its lesson.

*God as my witness I forgot there even was a gaming forum. With so many games being adapted to movies, my fever brain was grouping it all under ‘ entertainment ’.

Games are coming out and lasting less than 2 weeks before being pulled and taken offline.
So what? Some of these games are years in development and cost more than top blockbuster movies from Hollywood.
It's massive business.

Oh wow more videos of neckbeards bitching about the woke
After checking out the game it seems like some extremely poorly made and lazy knockoff of Fornite it’s also live service which means you can only play it online which isn’t usually popular. Games like this bombing isn’t rare look at the Suicide Squad game the problem is the amount of money invested into the game is absurd.
Not surprised people like Kaiju are blaming it on “woke” when Life is Strange a game about a hipster bisexual girl is coming out next week and will probably have some solid sales numbers

i mean most of those layoffs have more to do with studios finishing projects than go woke, go broke.
it's how the industry works. hire on a bunch of devs, release game, lay 90% of staff off.
1,900 of them were blizzard layoffs from Microsoft after they bought the studio out.
Another 1,800 was Unity that doesn't even make games, just the tools to make them.

Read the list of layoffs OP posted and tell me what they have to do with "going woke"
Microsoft accounts for a huge amount of them because they bought up Activision-Blizzard, one of the largest game development companies of all time, and laid off staff to integrate it into their own gaming division.
Unity is the second largest layoff listed, and they don't even make games, they make tools to create games. What does making woke games have to do with their layoffs? Once again, they don't make games.
Sony did shut down the studio that caused that flop of a game in the OP, that entire studio was 210 jobs out of the 13,000 layoffs.
