Played the beta this past weekend but was only able to get about 3-4 hours in. Overall it was a fun experience, it had the feel of The Division but the immersion of a Ghost Recon world. I'm still in Gears 5 and Greedfall but I have a feeling I will put both of those on hold come Friday.

FYI if you get the gold or ultimate edition you can play right now.
Game is downloading for me atm and I can't wait to dive in. Didn't play the beta so it will all be fresh for me.

People on reddit trash EVERY beta heavy.
Hell, any game page on reddit is majority bitching.

I'm picking mine up on Fiday. Is is like Wildlands?

I played the beta. It was pretty fun. Some of the movement mechanics seemed a bit sketchy, but maybe I just didn’t have enough time to learn the in’s and outs.

From the few hours you played is it a brand new game or more of Wildlands with a few new additions? Looking into getting it, but as much as I enjoyed Wildlands it got old after about playing through 60% of the game. The always online requirement is stupid too.

It's kind of a cross between Wildlands and The Division. Without giving too much away, you start with jack shite and have to make your way to a safe point to start building up your assault on the baddies.
If you liked the way Division had you build up your base/resources and the way that Wildlands let you pretty much choose your own route of completing the game and exploration, you will like Breakpoint.

Gotcha, thanks. I'll definitely look into it.

Have you played PVP much? Better/ worse/the same as Wildands?

This game is easily the most poorly reviewed Ubisoft game in years. Even the shillers seem to qualify their enthusiasm.
The singular praise seems to focus on the use of a fictional environment....no more worries about the stereotyping of Bolivian drug dealers or the PTSD inducing politics of DC.

I loved Wildlands for the PvP before they ruined it.
If Breakpoint has good PvP, I’ll love it too. I’m holding off though until more reviews come out. It looks like shite so far tbh.

It really is a great game. A lot of the bitching is just bitching to bitch.
Looter shooter complaints are way overstated. I’ve used the same main gun the entire time. Yeah, I gotta spend “800 credits” to get a up to level one every few hours but so what? Credits are beyond easy to earn and you’ll never run out.
The micro transactions are No where near as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. Micro transactions are here to stay. At least in GRB there are no loot boxes or gambling. If you want to unlock something early or not have to search for it, you can buy it. If not, you can find it for free with a quick google search.
Visually it’s stunning. Especially without the HUD on. I’ve been having an absolute blast with it so far.

Whose ever idea it was to implement a cursor for your menu and having to hold a button down to complete something instead of a simple click should burn in hell.
I’ve always hated these things.

Did not enjoy what I played. I get that it is a Ghost Recon game and it will feel similar to other Ghost Recon games... but this is basically the same as Madden or Call of Duty. Nothing new, bland, really did not think it was original or brought anything new to the table.

It's a lot to get used to. Going to take months. Hard to die and the map is huge. I hate being in the mountains or near any decline. Constantly sliding down. Hard to be incognito, so always have to hide or lie on the ground. I think it'll get better. Just takes some time..

If you are on the fence wait 3 months and it will probably be on sale for 25-30 bucks.

It’s unreal how horrible the driving in this game is.
Posted on 10/6/19 at 4:37 pm to hg
You would think a carbon copy of Wildlands would realize driving needed to be improved, but Ubisoft is not into improvements.
