If you are stuck on one of the Boss fights, watch a youtube video. Most of the bosses are fairly easy if you know how to kill them.
I quit for a solid year when I got stuck on Blood Starved Beast. Finally picked it up and finished the game. I just over leveled myself to kill BSB.
Then when I was done I watched a speed run and saw how easily those speed run guys kill everything. Those blood pellets which I never used, are actually quite useful.

I started Bloodborne recently and quit after about a week. As I feared, its not good difficult, its frustrating difficult. I have little desire to play it now.
I went into bloodbourne knowing zero about those types of games. I have never played dark souls or anything like that. I was stuck at the first part for about 5 hours or so. Once I was able to get to the first (side) boss, it allowed me to level up my character. Then I was set and never looked back.
Those games just remind me of playing old nintendo games where you had to just become really good at the game to get further. Not knocking easy games but sometimes I enjoy "getting good" like super meat boy/cuphead.

I think as you age, your coordination gets worse. At 29, I probably do not have the twitch skills I had at age 18. This can lead to some dumb deaths on my part where I forget what buttons to press to do things.
I would say though that most games today are less frustrating to play than the old games. Developers have mostly figured out how to teach you things as you play instead of stuffing everything into a printed manual.
Newer games are also much more generous with checkpoints/autosaves and generally guiding the player on what to do/where to go.

For me, the frustration often comes with learning the extremely basic things like just walking around, driving, talking, attacking, opening doors. Every game is a little bit different, so when you go from a game that you're used to to a game with completely different controls to do the same basic things, it really trips me up.

I beat the cleric beast. Even figuring out the pattern it was still tough to dodge. There's a delay in your movements that also is tough to learn. Your energy takes a second to go down after you get hit so its hard to time when to use your blood packs. Losing all your money when you die is what really frustrates me.

When I have to play on the Epic launcher instead of Steam and the "Launch" button is a different color and I can't process it all, rage starts to build, drool in the corner of my mouth........twitching, and the next thing I know it's 3 hours later and I've shite myself.

Cuphead is my ideal level of difficulty in games.

It really was perfect. I think the dragon in the clouds was the hardest part. It's funny how different people handle bosses though. Same with dark souls. There were some things that I didn't understand why they were hard but another boss that was "easy" would take me forever to kill.

Elite dangerous has a crazy learning curve but is fantastic

I guess I would enjoy dark souls type games if I was unhappy like y’all and needed something to be good at but I play games to have fun

I keep telling myself I'm going to get into Hearts of Iron, but every time about 30 minutes in I shut it off and do something else.

Have you tried Stellaris? It's been a much easier entry point to the Grand Strategy genre (same developer too) than Hearts of Iron or Crusader Kings.

Hearts of iron sucks the cheats don’t even work that good and it’s like impossible to take over the world as hitler

All of those things are purposeful design choices done for very specific reasons, not stuff they just forgot to put in. If you don't like it that's fine. If you want modern day hand holding up, FromSoftware games are not for you. And that's ok.

Last time I played, I had finally beaten blood starved beast after hours of trying. Only to lose all my blood echoes by some bullshite so I stopped playing. Thinking I’m going to pick it up after a yearlong hiatus.

I've reached the age where I tend to just stick to one game for the most part. I was a Destiny addict all the way through Destiny 1 to the first 6 months of Destiny 2 and when I tried other games during that time I usually gave up on them pretty early because I didn't want to learn new controls / systems.
Well except the Witcher 3. That game was so damn good It made me want to get a handle on it.

I know I had a big adjustment going from ME3 to andromeda. I'm still not 100% cool with the controls.

My best advice - Accept that this is going to happen. It's going to suck at times but when you get past an area that's been kicking your arse for hours it is so so rewarding.

Vicar keeps mutilating me. I don’t seem to be doing much damage to her.
