Hi. I’m new here. You think I could join your class or whatever? If not that’s cool. I’m not very good but you will have a great time playing. Name is LA Whtpplmeat. I’ll look forward into joining you.

We've been getting clapped in Squads too. I've been doing pretty decent in Solos. A few top 5's and a couple of second places. I think this meta definitely caters to the casuals a bit more, which makes the endgame a little easier to maneuver. Countering the drum gun just requires turbo building until they have to reload, and trying to get off a shot or two when you have an opening. I'm starting to get a hang of the combat shotgun, but its weird no longer pumping/smging to finish people.

Not sure if that is true. No one pumps and the new shotgun is much harder to get shots landed. Drum gun has not been a problem at all for me. I actually think it's harder for a casual to get a win now.

Maybe you're right, I just think the drum gun opens up opportunity for some casuals. I haven't really had a problem with drum guns in Solos. Squads can be tough if your getting sprayed by a bunch of them, but in Solos you can just keep building.

The drum gun makes building to protect yourself in close combat almost pointless lol

I won in Squads again yesterday. I’ve had 5 Squads wins with randoms in the past week.
I do so much better with a team.

Not if you're building for height. Obviously its a tough fight if you're just trying to keep a wall in front of you, but if you can build up they'll lose range and you can shotty or AR from above.

But if you build up, won’t they just shoot your build out from the bottom?

Maybe, but more often than not you can down them before they get the chance. That’s how I’ve countered them so far this season.

That was probably your best clip. I think ADS with the combat is solid.

So this may have been covered last night but typical scenario for me is I’m running and get lasered, I panic build a 1x1, and before I know it they’re on top of me. In that situation should I:
Box up and go for an edit play
Do 90s to try to get high ground but risk getting shot down
Something else?
(I know it depends a lot on the exact scenario)

If you boxed up and they are already on top of you, you have no choice but to box fight unless you have a bunch of materials and are a good builder.
90s would help if you decide to edit out but you need to do a complete 90 with floors and walls.
Sometimes it's better to try and make the play and not heal if the person is overly aggressive as you will be in a bad position if you start healing and they will not allow you to heal. Then you are just in a bad spot.

By this do you mean rush at them even though I’m weak and try to shoot them?
Or immediately do 90s and try to beat them to the high ground?

You have to try and make a killing play on them and pressure them or get to an advantageous position. If you box up and try to heal, you'll be put in a bad spot. That's why pros use minis and not big pots or chug jugs. They pop a mini and try to get height or the advantage and pop another mini or a big pot. Med kits take too long and it's usually the shield that goes so bandages aren't that good to carry.

Gotcha. Easier said than done but I understand what you are saying.

New patch looks great. That’s the one thing about this game, is that it’s always one patch away from being great again.

I like the drum gun nerf, but it will be interesting to see how the tactical assault rifle fits in. From the stats I don’t see why you wouldn’t just use an smg up close or an AR at midrange.

Frees up a slot for utility.
