Past or present, what are your fav. first person shooter games? I wasn't always the biggest gamer like most, but I do remember the fun times I had playing HALO with my brother's and they're friends.
I remember being up til like 4am playing Halo, lol not knowing what I was doing but having the time of my life. Halo for some reason seemed to be one of those era defining games, and it still resonates today. What say you?

Obviously grew up playing Goldeneye/Perfect Dark and Timesplitters. Moved on to counter-strike and then Halo. Modern Warfare is probably the game I put the most hours in as far as shooters are concerned.
EDIT - I guess I should say Doom/Wolfenstein/Duke Nukem before all of those. At least I think so?

GoldenEye and MW2. The number of times me and like six friends were in the same room playing split-screen GoldenEye in my youth was astounding. While you wanted to win, you sure as hell didn't want to finish last and give up the controller.
MW2 is still my favorite CoD and was made even better with the guys on here I played with, especially Lew, Cool and BT

Day of Defeat, Halo CE, Goldeneye/Perfect Dark, Battlefield 3/4, MW2 and BLOPS for competitive shooters. Half Life 2, F.E.A.R., Far Cry 3/4, and Bioshock Infinite for campaign shooters.
Technically the modern Fallout games are "shooters", but not their strong suit and not why I play them.

Halo was what got me into the genre.
In terms of just ‘best shooter overall’ it has to be Destiny 1.

Halo 2 and 3 were insanely addicting.
