A real sequel wouldn't be out for another 5 or 6 years. This is gravy.

5-6 years from 2015 when Fallout 4 came out? Or 5-6 years from now?

Give it to Obsidian. They made better a game.

They made a mod of an existing game.

I am enjoying the game. I was in on Beta. It needs work.

As far as vats.... I only use it when I get up close enemies. Q (PC VATS HOTKEY), trigger, q, trigger. Makes a quick mess of several mole rats/ants/dogs/ferals that swarm you. You dont aim, its just vats and trigger.

I still want to play and nothing that I have read really has deterred me, yet for reasons I cant fully explain I'm still having immense fun being a shitty mid laner in League of Legends though and just cant be bothered to commit gaming resources else where, apparently.

I'm enjoying it, really like the new perk card system. It feels like builds are way more open to experimentation.

What I don't like is this retardedly huge 46GB "patch" I'm downloading that will keep me from being able to play tonight. They flat out butchered the "beta" for this game. It should have happened way before launch and the bullshite they're stumbling around with should've been fixed on day 1.

I was not happy with the beta either. They are AAA though and don't follow the path a lot of games take. They seem to value atmosphere and story line above all else. I expect that from them.

Being on the fallout 4 engine, I expected Fallout 4 light survival mode with multiplayer and a new map and quest line. That's what I got.

At the end of the day I am glad I don't have to break out Fallout 4 again (5x ran through) and I can play this one with friends.

I liked what the game offered and look forward to playing more.

I didn't mind the graphics. really enjoyed them. (PC)

beating mongels with a machete was fun.

lot of environment to explore. felt like FO4 which is good because I liked that title. seeing skeletons left in their position the moment they were incinerated is always a nice 'fallout game ' touch and there is no shortage of those here.

"escaping the vault" wasn't as long and tedious as fo3 or 4.

long term I worry about bugs, potentially broken pvp, lack of content, lack of mods. I agree its probably a 20 dollar game and not a 60 dollar game, but whatever. that's in the future.

exploring the wasteland and walking to the unfilled outlines for locations of interest on your radar is still interesting and exciting. and that was a big selling point of previous fo titles.

camp building tip for people having problems with setting a spot and having someone else build near it or get disconnected

quote:

Hey friendo, try blueprinting just your house, do not include the foundation or the stairs. When you need to move it just manually rebuild your foundation, add stairs and drop your pad in place.

Coming from a fellow builder who spends most of his time meticulously building and decorating houses (I sacrifice turrets for more authentic bear rug budget), I have run into this issue as well. Even when there wasn't a camp taking my old location and more so when my blueprint exploded into 37 pieces.

The issue I believe is that snapping allows for more freedom per piece and can set foundations where you wouldn't be able to place them singularly. When you go to drop a stored blueprint or build from a blueprint it doesn't only take into account where your starting foundation was, it makes sure every piece is not floating or clipping world objects as if it were your starting block which makes dropping your blueprint impossible in the hilly wastes of Appalachia.

my god the Fallout subreddit is a complete toxic shithole.

the nerd rage over this title is palpable. kind of makes me like it more.

never would have imagined liking a fallout title would be a gaming hipster POV but here we are.

Considering this game is entirely online, I am worried that if the game is not popular there won't be much of a community a year from now and the game may suffer. Even if you mostly play alone I would think having a bunch of other people adds to the experience.

If the DLC wasn't free, this game would be Free with Gold in the xbox store in 3 months.

This is why I have no interest. I am way behind on games, I usually wait until they are $20. Hell I'm still playing Fallout 4. By the time I get to this, online will be dead.

Hell, when people were complaining about stash space, I didn't even realize they were talking about their base. I thought they meant their inventory.

Small inventory was already bad. Hell, my favorite mod is the endless inventory. I had no clue they actually meant their home base had limited space.

Saw some vid last night of a guy dropping crap out of his base stash. 400! 400 total?!?!?!?

Nope. 100% nope.

I'm 60 plus hours into my Fallout 4 replay with my infinite inventory. No reason at all to pick this up.

im sure it does. it probably is. I guess I like trash

kind of refreshing just ignoring all the junk when looting a building. I grab what I feel is important (adhesives) and leave the rest.

did a public event last night. met some people. shot some robots. found a bobblehead. fun stuff

this game may turn into "the worst fallout ever" but it also can become "the best survival ark/rust" style game over (with continued support)
